I imagine 'Don Duckworth in Solstice Showdown!' as a side scrolling adventure, similar to Ristar or Rayman. The genre of the soundtrack is hip-hop and it was composed in FL Studio.

How does it fit the theme?
Don Duckworth's entire world is subjected to random season changes and can only experience one season at a time. Each track represents one of the four seasons his world my be affected by.

The drum rhythm of the first track is known here in Brazil as "Funk carioca" from the 90s, inspired by miami bass and freestyle. For me it was very interesting to hear this musical style in a game context, as in my cultural context it is a rhythm more used in dances, mainly in the suburbs. The result was amazing!

"Pond Springs" and "Cyber Summer" reminded me a lot of Flying Lotus' work in Yasuke.

I really liked the tone and texture choices and the mix of elements integrated into Hip-Hop. Very cool result!

Thanks for your feedback Phelippe! You get it. I was worried folks might not appreciate the hip-hop element. I personally think hip-hop is underrated in its effectiveness on songs with bigger, epic sounds. I looked into Funk carioca (because you put me on to it 😝) and I see what you mean. I wonder how I tapped into that genre without knowing of it... 

Being compared to Flying Lotus is quite flattering to me 😄 Thanks again for your feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the music

These beats got me moving, nicely done! You really nailed the game feel too, I got the gameplay playing in my head pretty easily. You sample choices are great and change things up nicely, but the only thing I'd want for these tracks is having even more samples and layering; that said the time crunch was tough and you pulled off some great sounds!

It's kinda weird that this game is about the four seasons but there's no track for winter. That being said, what you do have is well put together.
