I believe I do have the warmap, is that what I send the Vanguard to battle bandits? Have tried buying Mithril, even attempted putting in resources but saw no place to transfer, btw ty.

Ah! Now I get what you mean. The mithril required to recruit her is the resource mithril from the overview map, not what is in your inventory. You need to upgrade the mine in your country to produce mithril for your country over time.
