So I completed the John rising quest but didnt get the scene. Was i supposed to do something before I defeat the boss or is it after because the hit states I will happen in the underground pub but I never went there with him.

You need to have at least 40 trust with the demon worshipers, and get their incense instead of mixing the drugs to make the lure. Then you just need to walk around in the party until Aura runs out of willpower. I don't know if you need to find the incense first to complete the quest.
