How does your game fit the theme?
This game was created for a game jam with the theme "an end is a new beginning" I made it link to the theme by having the character coming home from an adventure and the end of his adventure was a new beginning. I was planning on adding cutscenes and other things to link it to the theme more but I didn't have the time. So hopefully this is enough. This is my second game and first game jam so hopefully it meets all the standards it needs to.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I used audio from other people (from the website freesound.org )but gave them credit in my description.

It's like Super mario but with Zelda sprinkle tossed in 😆. Really good game, loved the art style.

The jump has a bit of a lag, but I had a fun time playing nonetheless! Great game :)

While the game is actually fun and the level difficulty is just right, i run into problem where my char just wont jump consistently for no reason, character lag behind when platform is moving, and character sprite size appear to become bigger during jump, and i didnt quite figure out what is the usage of the flower/leaf pickup in the game.

Nonetheless, its still manageable and fun to play through.

thanks for the feedback the flower was going to link to the backstory of the game but i didnt have time to make a cutscene as i have no idea how to and it will probably take a couple days i will check yours out now!!

thanks for the feedback!! For my next game i will try on improving those things as i may make another platformer.

With the poppies i was going to include a counter at the top and you couldn't finish the level without collecting them all but i didn't have the time. thanks for the feedback i really appreciate it!

I love this idea, but jump control could be a little silly sometimes. Overall - very fun to play. Good job!

Unfortunately, I was unable to jump on an island, making the game unplayable.

For me, it's almost all levels. When moving / on moving platform, sometimes I can't jump

oh yea i am aware of that i get it makes the game hard to play and i spent a while trying to fix it but i couldnt sorry about that

Cool idea. The platformer controller was a bit off. A bit too floaty and the jumping was a bit bouncy. Really good effort. Platformer controls are a science. Keep it up!

For your first game jam this is some nice work. The character controlled a little strangely but, I know that platformer movement and physics is a hard thing to get right in a short amount of time.

This was a good effort, well done. I think the platformer control felt a bit annoying since the movement was a bit floaty and the player didn't move with moving platforms. Have a look at coyote time - something that a lot of platformers use that really polishes the movement! I was a little dissapointed to see "blue mario". I'm an awful artist but it's always nice to see original artwork. I hope you enjoyed the jam and well done for completing your second game! will definitely check your other on out.

This is a nice concept, but I think I managed to skip everything by entering the tent I spawned in! I did enjoy playing through most of the levels.

Nice work, I think this game concept would make for a really cool story. perhaps the jumping physics could be reworked, it was really hard to jump off the moving platforms. keep up the good work!
