Although very simple, I think the graphics and music are very good and fit nicely. I also like the idea of your upgrades being extra jumps, you could make interesting map layouts and challenges around that.
Sadly, the character movement being so slow really drags down the game. I think you can have that speed in a game, but mixed with upgrades that improve your jumps, and your jump being so fast and high by its own, it makes the overall movement feel bad.
Still, it was an okay entry, and I didn't find bugs at all, so nice job!
At first I got quite frustrated with how slow the player is, but in the end it felt like more of a relaxing game. It was quite calming when I finished it, the issues is just that it feels jarring how fast you can move vertically with 3-5 jumps, but how slow you are when moving horizontally. Also I liked the simple idea of just using jumps, it may not be the most metroidvania of them all, but it felt nice.
For some reason, I am unable to jump. The Z button does nothing. :( The result is that I can't even begin the game really...
I do like the colors, though.
That's... odd. I'll update the game and add an alternate keybind. Thanks for reporting.
You could also try uploading a Windows build. Sometimes special problems arise which are specific to the WebGL build.
There is a Windows build. In fact, it's the only one available.
Oops, sorry. I must have been thinking of something else when I replied. But I did try quitting and restarting a couple times and the issue was not resolved. Odd.
That's definitely quite curious. You're sure your Z key isn't broken either?
Nope... it works fine, like here: Z.
I tried Moonbound again, no change. Kind of disappointing. Not sure if this will happen to anyone else.
I like the design and colors. The game feels rather slow though, and I got stuck in the level.
Would you be able to share a screenshot of where you got stuck? I did my best to make sure there'd be no softlock spots when designing the map, but chances are I accidentally created one anyway.
