i love this game if we run into bugs how do we get in contact with you about them and also i have a few ideas to make the game more fun xD its amazing and the inscyption vibe is so awesome, id love to see if you go as far as that game, and if we could support you in the building of the game how can we do such a thing ^u^
awww thank you very much ;w;
I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and yes! everyone swelling up was exactly what I was going for ^w^ tums through defeat, but *more* tums through victory u3u~
You can thank the Isiah Card Game Combat plugin for the actual base coding to allow for such a system in RPG Maker ^^
I'm glad you liked them~ and definitely glad I was able to pull off the Witch as a character in spite of the short amount of time I had originally ^^7
I have plans to continue development of this game with more art (mainly for the endings), more music (there's only one track so far) more characters, and of course as a result, more tums u3u~
A very neat concept and very impressive to pull off in RPG Maker! I've never seen a card battle inplementation in it before so it's extremely cool to see. I think I encountered two bugs. The first was that I seemed to be doing the same two screens over and over again. After leaving the table I'd be on a screen with a tent and a campfire, then move north to a screen with one fight on it. Win or lose, when I next left the table I'd be back on the tent/campfire map again. The enemies changed, but hte map did not. The second bug is that after repeating this several times the game froze and hung.
Bugs aside, I have mixed feelings about parts of the game. It felt difficult to play strategically - the combat is very reminiscent of Slay the Spire, but without seeing how much damage is incoming or how much block an enemy has it made it much much harder to feel like I was making meaningful strategic choices. I felt like my win or loss was mostly down to RNG.
I found a lot of mechanics just very hard to follow. I didn't particularly want to go and look up status conditions after battle, especially after I looked up Regen and the Knight just told me "seems self explanatory"
I'm very conflicted over how the corruption and player pregnancy works. Personally, when I play a preg game, I want to make the character pregnant, so when you get pregnant by losing, and enemies make you pregnant in combat and your cards put you back to normal, that's frustrating. Every time I got offered cards or saw a shop I was looking for a card that would boost corruption or something like that but I never saw any ability to do so.
All that said, it's a really ambitious entry for a 3 week game jam! Great work and great potential!
Sorry for the late reply! I couldn't figure out how to get back to this page ^^;
bugs have been fixed in the latest update!
there are plans to add actual numbers! It's just that it would have taken me ages to do in the original release and I very much did not have time uwu
As for the status effects: I didn't want to bog down the battles with explanations for what every status does the first time you encounter it, so putting it in a "book" of effects ala inscryption seemed more fitting. The Dread Knight is less sarcastic though when explaining other status effects uwu
For the corruption mechanics though, the main point of interest is supposed to be the Witch's pregnancy progression, which you only get via victories or a certain Curio (? event). The Dread Knight specifically is just meant to be eye candy to keep the player interested. As for the player in the cabin, I mostly just wanted to have preg content regardless of victory or loss, but you get *more* through victory ^^
This entry is rad as hell! I love the style and spooky aesthetic, and the gameplay was pretty engaging as well! I'm not particularly good at deck builders (kind of awful to be honest) but I still managed to stumble my way through with only a couple losses.
Really fun entry, great job!
all you really need to do is make is so they can't just instakill you in 3/4 hits, they have that egg move and they can all cast it on after the other, just make it to where only one of the tentacles can do that per battle, that way you can focus down on that one before the other 2 and stand a bit of a better chance.
I can't remember the path specifically, but on a path with a merchant-campfire-combat string, backing up at the combat room (to the tummy scene) sends you one room too far back- letting you spam the campfire, upgrade all your cards... and softlock the game, since it won't let you progress, even after winning/losing the combat!
Haven’t played it all the way through yet but this is a really nice game. Really pushes RPG Maker to it’s limits with great art and presentation. And tons of cool mechanics. Unfortunately ran into similar softlocks as others but I feel your pain. I will say it can be tough to plan out turns when you don’t know if your attacks will kill or if you are blocking enough. Also a minor bug with turn ending when you had 0 spirit even if you had a zero cost card. Forced me to make some unoptimal plays on occasion. Also it felt like many of the events did nothing. Enemies attacking first on occasion makes sense in paper due to the ability to roll block between combat but in practice it’s a bit frustrating to enter an encounter and lose half your hp bar. Despite all that this game is excellent. The theming and use of pregnancy works really well. Great work. I’ll definitely come back to this after the first round of bug fixes
Thank you very much for playing! I'm glad you're liking it in spite of it's many issues ;w;
I plan on adding numbers eventually to keep track of things like that though!
I'll have a look and see what I can do with the 0 cost cards
Enemies attacking first is a bug rather than a feature, and seems to be a rather stubborn one as well.
Thank you TwT
Also I'll add more tags once the first bug fix update is out! Until then I frankly don't wanna promote it due to how broken it is .w.
The game is interesting, but difficult because of the saving problem. You can only save once; after that, an error code locks the game. I find the game lacking in some areas as well. No nearby health, and only one dread knight gender. It would be cool if you choose to have breasts or not, it will affect the character as well. plus, there are areas where you cannot go and cannot backtrack. The concept itself is fascinating but needs work. I look forward to future games
Yeah I have no idea why the saving issue is an issue at all, but I'll try and look into it for certain!
The health issue might be moreso due to the blocked pathways (it's a bug, not a feature) as each path has it's own eases and difficulties due to the arrangement of events ^^7
As for the Dread Knight, they're intended to be non-binary and are also meant to be visually ambiguous. I might consider the idea, but considering they're wearing a (busted) suit of armour, it might not affect much anyways even if I gave them some? owo
as stated above, the blocked paths are a bug, and not a feature, and once I get to releasing the first update, they'll be fixed ^^
I'm glad you're interested! and apologies for all the bugs ^^;
Glad you'll be fixing it because there seems to be loads of game breakers, a strange black card that seems to have appeared after gaining marrow extractor which does nothing and unbinding at the merchant leads to a freeze "TypeError Cannot read properly 'id' of undefined"and the fights after the merchant also freeze with the error "TypeError Cannot read properly 'lenght' of undefined"
Quick edit: also lovin all the bellies so far just a shame the bugs bogging it down
Welp cant access any save with it anymore, just getting the length error in any fight where I have it, I'll send a pic if I ever cross it again
Doesnt seem to stop anyone else in the competition, although I dont know the rules whatsoever
Shame it wont be fixed for a while, eitherway, looking forward to what you might create in the future!
yeah it's a real bad bug sorry >w<
I think someone mentioned starting a new save, and winning a fight without getting a bug fixes the other saves? will have to double check with em in the morning for confirmation on that though, but it can't hurt to try as is ^^7
Well it's not just about the rules, it's also cuz I was working on the game for 6-12 hours a day and I'm a heckin burnt out of game development for now ^^;
yeh apologies again and thank you very much!
