I remember at some point game overs could just be ignored and you could keep playing.  I very much preferred that.  I'm playing this game to get off.  Having a game over and having progress lost is not conducive to arousal.  Is there an option that can be added to the game so I can get back to enjoying it?  Or maybe something I can change in the files?  Because right now I'm just not enjoying the game.  One game over and it just ruins it.

You can enable Cheat Mode in Options. It lets you play after Game Over and that's probably what you uses before. But it's a feature of Patreon build. On itch.io it's not included.
