Is a Steam key included when purchasing via Itch.io?

Your game is not available on Steam in some countries. Will a purchase on Itch.io include a Steam key? Or you could apply the +18 rating symbol for Germany and so it should be able to be purchased in Germany. Steam doesn't like it if 'mature' games do not have the +18 rating for german customers because of our stupid laws.

It looks like this, only saying '+18'

Hi ghost. I have no problem issuing you a STEAM key while the supply lasts. However, it is not available with the sale currently. As for the German law, there is no getting around it, I'm afraid. Steam requires an actual rating from Germany (approved by Germany) to pass. I'll send you a STEAM key for SEASON ONE via email.

thanks a lot for your quick reply. I am pretty sure you did your research about the german rating but I am wondering how some games/devs can pass with the rating logo I posted in my OP as that logo no way is the official logo the german USK issues for approved games. So I assume other devs just mark their store page as checked/age verified and Steam is ok with it.

This is the official USK rating logo (in different colours depending on the age rating):

I'll buy version 2.1 now from Itch.io. You should see my email address from te payment. It's a mail address finishing with @gmx.de. Just let me know if it works for you or if I need to send you somehow the full mail address.
