Guardener also made its way onto my list of favourites! The art looks great, the game is fun and plays smoothly and I particularly love the level-up system, which made playing for longer feel very rewarding. The amount of unique upgrades was honestly impressive and gave it a lot of replayability. The fact that this is your first game took me completely by surprise, I wouldn't have been able to tell! The only real criticism I have is that the music got a little repetitive after a while and there could have been more indication on a succesful hit, but those are honestly very minor points. This was all around a super enjoyable experience, amazing work! :)

Hey! We're very happy that Guardener suited so many people including you, we gave our heart and soul to make as much pieces of it we could in those 48h as well as learning Godot. Such feedbacks really help us out and we must thank you. After those 5 days we absolutely know what to fix and we will be doing it as soon as we got some free time!
Fun little game! I like the art. Some actions feel a little unimpactful. For example it feels unclear whether or not I managed to hit an enemy or not, and often I don't even notice when I get damaged. Also the windows build seems very buggy, as upgrades seem to have no effect. That's okay though for such a short timeframe. Congrats on the submission!
Thank you so much for your advice! We effectively had some issues with godot UIs and export since we did it 5 minutes before the end 😅 but everything about the upgrades should be working on the web, even though the windows build seems not to. We can only thank you for taking the time to download it and test it, thanks for the feedback and have a great day!
Fun little game!
I struggled a bit to figure out the dash, I *think* you're invincible while it's going? It was hard to tell. I opted for speed upgrades instead.
I wrapped up around level 15, at which point I was zooming and one-shotting everything. Pretty fun!
Great job!
Hey, thanks for your feedback! The truth about the dash is that the value we set for the speed while you are doing it is so low that it looks like you're just walking slowly in a direction without hitting any key 😂. Anyway, the game seems fun with its infinite scalability so thanks and have a nice day!
I really liked your artwork and subtle background music! I found sometimes when an enemy was above me that they were very difficult to hit, but otherwise I thought this was a great game. Nice job!
(Moved the comment since I didn’t realize it was a different section for the Jam rating’s comment) Nice! I really enjoyed the graphics! It’s quite though to aim up, ended up dying to that. Also while spam clicking to kill the enemies I often ended up selecting the levelup ability without having the chance to read it.
love the sound effect for the slam ability. Pretty game. I like that you can just keep gaining speed forever, I think by round 40ish I was fast enough to walk across the whole garden in half a second lol. Though if you wanted to keep that more manageable you could make it so upgrades come with diminishing returns. Otherwise, fun little game. Great job guys!
As everyone said, really top notch visuals! It deserves a bit more diversity of enemies and abilities (like three ability slots instead of one?) to be a fully fleshed experience so I hope you'll tinker a bit more after the jam!
First of all, this game is just beautiful. No other word for it. Easily one of the nicest looking of the jam. I really love the premise--it's quite similar to mine, actually! The combat is nice, but I wish there was a little bit more oomph to it. Particles, sound effects. flashes, etc. would go a long way, although I understand that obviously these things are low priority in a jam game! Still though, amazing work and great job!
The art is fantastic. The combat could be expanded, it was a bit hard to tell when I was hitting and when I had been hit. Enjoyed playing it though
I like the game, simple but on point. The graphics are very nice. And I personally love how you sticked to the spring theme with the blossoming of cherry trees.
This is a well executed game with simple fighting mechanics that feel good for the most part. I found the game a little too easy. I had to basically sit there to die. However, that is a minor gripe and did make it easy to see what the game had to offer. I especially liked the mole action. If you wanted to expand the game, then I would suggest more enemies and more special moves the the character. The art is very well done, and I like the audio queue that the enemy is attacking. It would have been nice to have something similar on the player.
I love the visuals, the gameplay is the player controller is a bit complicated to understand but the main mechanism of wave and upgrade works great ^^.
