Wah! This was so well made!!! :D I really felt like I was stumbling around half blind for a good chunk of the game - which is a POSITIVE thing for "To Lose Sight"! It feels immersive to play as you yourself struggle to see things that the character cannot.
I liked the assets chosen and I especially liked the effect that the broken glasses gave you for navigating and looking around! Each seeing device's unique level of helpful and unhelpful traits was fun to experience. While exploring in various states of blindness, I felt like Velma from Scooby Doo looking for her glasses.
Tied in to the gameplay is environmental storytelling that paints a double story of loss and the struggles with moving on when you can't see past your grief. The character struggles to see past his grief, a struggle reflected in his poor eyesight. It is only when he can see clearly that he can escape the dark pits of despair.
As you play, you can see one thing clearly: "To Lose Sight" is a snapshot into the tragedy and challenges of life as a person with a disability in a post-apocalyptic landscape.
