Theme adherence

I looked at the jam page and nowhere under rules does it say that the game HAS to fit the jam theme.

HOWEVER, there is a category in the ratings for 'Theme'.

Can I take this as worst case my game does not fit the theme at all and I get extremely low rating in Theme category?

Or will my game just be disqualified if it does not fit the theme at all?

I am not particularly bothered about ratings in the jam, I'd just like people to play my game. I wanted to go for a 'chill' type game - totally opposite from the theme of being risky.

However if it means the game is no good for the jam, then I'll probably just leave it. Thanks :)

Don't think anything like being disqualified would happen. Just you might get low ratings on the theme and people might be deterred from playing your game for not fitting the theme.

Ok thanks :)

The second (or third) paragraph clearly states "The game you make must be based on the jam theme which is announced when the jam starts."

Really it should be in the 'Rules' section then.

Like I'm not having a go to be spiky, but it needs to be clear to avoid confusion.

I'll probably bow out then, thanks for letting me know :)
