It seems we are of the same mindset. Our team also made a similar platformer with shifting puzzles, but in 3D. We even did the same visual and music trick!

The platformer is challenging, and is set up well. The only frustration I had with the level was the lack of screen checkpoints where when I died I had to go back to the start of the level.

I tried that but didn't manage to implement it in time lol. Thanks for the feedback anyway!

Fun game. I think the choice of controls adds a nice challenge to it :) . The transitions were very well done and i dont know how many times i died, but it would be fun if there was some sort of leaderboard for how many times you died lol. Great job!

Developer

Yeah, I wanted to add that but ran out of time lol

Great game !! I liked the transitions when you died because I died a lot. Really addicting

Developer

I'm glad you liked it! :)

Fun platformer. Dimension switching mechanic is clean and easy to understand. Level 3 humbled me. I died so many times. "Okay one more try" energy was strong. It was satisfying to beat level 3.

Suggestion: It would be funny to have an ending screen that shows how many times we died. I need the game to shame me so i can either feel a sense of accomplishment or get deeply humbled.

Overall, really polished and fun. Great job! :D

Yeah, I wanted to make a death count for each level but time was running low so I had to scrap it unfortunatelly. I was also planning a "the dropper" style level that was getting really fun but didn't include it too. Maybe after the rating period I'll update it. Thanks for the feedback, glad you liked it!

Edit: english is not my primary language lol

Excellent level design with the dimension mechanic :) I'm one of those who struggled to wrap my head around z and c. Beat it in the end! If space bar was jump, my silly gamer brain probably would have beaten it a lot faster ^_^ good job!

Developer

My bad hehe, turns out I'm used to play games like Hollow Knight or Celeste on the keyboard so that's why I chose these buttons. Glad you liked it though!

Honestly not sure what other people are talking about with controls. I found them really easy and familiar. I really liked the way you played into switching between dimensions after each obstacle and then really caught me lacking when it was not needed on level 2.  Serves me right to get into a rhythm, haha. A very nice platforming entry, good job!

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

Nice idea, well done. The controls are a bit strange, though. ;)

Congrats!

Thanks! I really didn't think the controllers would be so weird for so many people since I chose them based in Celeste and Hollow Knight, but I guess I did learn a lesson here! :)

Hollow Knight and Celeste are great references, though don't both of them use spacebar as jump as for their keyboard controls?

Submitted

oh wow. you're right. I only ever played them with a gamepad. So weird!

Developer

Yeah, I totally forgot that people usually play this kind of game with a controller since I don't have one LOL. That's why I got confused about the controller comments

Honestly really impressed. This game was fun although the controls were a bit difficult to get used to though.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I based the controllers on Celeste and Hollow Knight but I probably could have done a better job!

The game is really smooth, really nice, i like it lots.
The controls are a bit weird, but the game is great!

Developer

Thanks! What did you find weird about it?

in these kinds of games, usually, the jump button is the spacebar, and a/d is for left/right movement, the jump key being far from the movement keys made my brain think about it more than usual, that's all.
