How does the game fit the theme?
The story is about not trusting what your neighbor is up too, and the mysterious man breaking in. But maybe untrust goes a little too far... Maybe the best way is to trust those you trust the least? And don't trust those you trust the most...

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Some code assisted with google. And most music and sound effects are from Scratch Library, Pixabay.com, and/or other sources. Credits in the game as well. But all other art and game assets and code created by me.

Congrats on releasing your very first Unity game—getting a full 3D build out for a jam is a huge milestone! The loading screen setup, overall visual style, and music build a solid initial impression.

A few quick unity optimization & QoL tips to help smooth out performance for your upcoming update:

- In-Game Objective: Add a quick 1-sentence prompt on startup so players know the objective right away without having to read the itch page.

- Mouse Sensitivity: Add a slider or lower the default mouse look sensitivity so aiming feels less twitchy.

- Performance Baking: As Crabguy mentioned, baking static lighting (Lighting > Bake) and enabling Occlusion Culling will drastically boost FPS by reducing real-time draw calls.

- Static Batching: Check "Static Batching" in Project Settings > Player to let Unity combine non-moving meshes automatically.

Solid first step, keep grinding! If you get a chance, I'd really appreciate your feedback on my solo jam project as well: /jam/brackeys-16/rate/4953523

thank you for the feedback! I have made an updated non-demo version with more levels and enemies as well as fixed bugs here: https://mughat-games.itch.io/close-call

and I would love to rate your game. But unfortunately it appears it’s disqualified and it looks like you used a lot of ai and vibe coding. Especially noticeable with the music. But looks cool from what I’ve seen! Good luck as well in your game making.

The game started off strong with good music and loading screen, and I liked the visuals to. There were some problems, first you didn't explain the objective in game it is goof practice because people usually don't read the entire description of the game. Second the mouse aiming was too sensitive. Third and more importantly the game was laggy I know this is you first unity game saying that this is impressive I couldn't relses my first game because of lag. A couple of things You could have done to fix the lag (it wasn't that bad) was bake your lighting I don't if you did that and let the lights on mixed, but if not windows---Rendering---lighting. The second thing you could have done (I don't know whether you did any of this or not so I am just telling you stuff that will help in case you did not) is bake you Occlusion windows---Rendering----Occlusion. Last in player settings (Edit---project settings) turn on static batching.  All in all, it was a good experience, and I would consider paling the next update.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I am currently working on the first update (seperate from the other file cuz it has to be there for the contest) but I'll try to look into baking the lights and such.

Alright I have some new feedback for you; first you did improve the lag it was noticeably better the two problems are small and easer to fix in comparison.  There were some overlapping textures this happens when you have to faces of a 3d model on the same cordonnets, second and you might not even call this a problem just and inconvenience is whenever you go back to the main menu you have to watch the splash screen again.

Developer

ah yes. I know about those overlappings. It happened when I was just rushing making the levels. And yeah I should make it so you don’t have to watch the title intro again
