Interesting Idea, alittle difficult once it starts ramping up and felt none of the angels were actually making any kind of difference
Very cool game. Great visuals and gameplay. It reminds me of Hyper Demon.
sick visuals! The crucifix gun made me think of witchfire haha
Darn, I love the dragon serpent thingy flying across the level. It looks so cool! The game is fairly difficult and it’s not too clear what happens when you trust or destroy and angel. I mean I saw stuff going on… But there was a lot of stuff so I’m not sure which of the stuff was due to the angel being trusted or not ahah. Still, I had a great time. Congratz!
Fun hoard shooter type thing. The "gun"play felt surprisingly good, quite satisfying to blast demon and eyeballs with it. I did have some odd mouse issue where sometimes it felt like it suddenly turned me 180, but without a lag spike to suggest it was just a hitch or whatever. Probably just web version things honestly.
Audio is great (though perhaps lacking a PUMPING action soundtrack) and the visuals work well (I am a little fatigued with the PSX aesthetic popular atm but that is purely personal taste, I won't rate based on that).
Felt like adequate enemy variation for a jam game, the big snake thing took me by surprise the first time it showed up, very cool to have a huge enemy like that in the mix.
Difficulty is definitely up there, you get overwhelmed very quickly and it's tough to keep the obelisks under control with the kinda short range of your weapon. Deaths mostly felt "fair" but it was always a little surprising when you just instantly died because something was behind you with no indication, perhaps some general enemy SFX would be useful to try and give some warning in those situations.
Never 100% understood what the "bad" angels were doing, were they adding enemies/spawning obelisks? I thought they were the ones doing the beams trying to hit me, but I think that was actually the good ones trying to hit the enemy?
Would've loved some roguelike-ish upgrades, but that might just be because I'm a fiend for roguelikes and it felt a little RoR2 ish at times.
Overall, a great entry!
Thanks for playing, and for the feedback!
Some of the stuff you mentioned (like SFX for enemies behind you) is there but it isn't clear enough (like the SFX of enemies being too soft and hard to hear over the other sounds). I agree it could have been more clear what a bad Angel vs good Angel does.
I appreciate the lengthy review!
