Like previous editions of our yearly Game Jams here at DAE, all 2nd-year students from Game Development, Interactive Sound Production, Game Graphics Production, and Independent Game Production compete for honor in the Game Jam during Creaweek.
This year, things just got a "little" bigger. This jam is now open to all students from other schools. Even better: Xbox Game Camp is open for all Belgian game devs to participate!
That's not all: Fifteen female game devs from Africa and Belgium are joining the Game Jam for the Roots & Pixels project. Yup, this jam is going to be insane 🤯
This jam will be hosted at The Level, Botenkopersstraat 2, 8500 Kortrijk.

The Game Jam ends with a fabulous closing event that starts at 13:00 in Depart (across the Nelson Mandela square).
During the event we first get to playtest all games made during the jam.
At the grand showcase, all teams will receive the opportunity to present their games using a 2 minute pre-recorded gameplay video in front of a jury of some of the most influential people from the Belgian game dev scene. It's your time to shine!
After the game showcase, we will announce the Game Jam winners, and you'll be able to take all games for a spin.
After 19:30, it's party time!

At Xbox Game Camp, we believe in empowering the next wave of creators, developers, and storytellers sharing their authentic visions with the gaming industry. Participating teams should be transparent in how the fair use of AI supported your creativity. Please source your use of AI in all content created including ideation, artwork, sound, narrative, localization, etc. -> Ergo: It is mandatory to mention any specific usage of generative AI in your final game on your itch.io page.
As a reward for all your hard work and creativity, we are glad to announce that we'll have fabulous prizes!
Xbox Award: During the showcase, you will be scored by the jury members. The student team with the best score wins this award!
Community award: Your games will be available to play online. The team with the highest score wins the community prize!
