Welcome to ELORDA GAME JAM #1 — an online game jam for developers of all skill levels. Your task is to create a game during the jam period inspired by the announced theme.

Interpret the theme freely. Possible directions:

• Traditions and celebrations
• Lanterns, dragons, fireworks
• Myths, family, luck, renewal
• Contrast between old & new, ritual and change

Be creative — literal or abstract takes on the theme are welcome.

📜 RULES

• The game must be created during the jam period (work-in-progress materials made before the jam should be declared).  
• Any engine and tools are allowed.  
• Solo and team submissions are welcome.  
• Pre-made assets are allowed — declare them in the submission.  
• Be respectful and follow itch.io community guidelines.
  
• No prohibited content is allowed, including sexual or excessively violent content.
• No generative AI may be used in any part of the project.

🏆 JUDGING & CRITERIA

Entries will be judged on the following criteria (each 1–10):

1. Theme Interpretation — how well and inventively the entry relates to the Chinese New Year theme.  
2. Gameplay — mechanics, polish, and fun.  
3.  Visual Style — aesthetics, clarity, and presentation.  
4.  Audio — sound design, music, and feedback.  
5. Overall — overall impression and cohesion.

Final score = average of criteria scores from all judges. Winners will be announced after voting ends.

You can update your submission files until the submission deadline.  

If you need to submit early or ask questions, use the jam community board.
