This jam is all about overcoming fears. Whether those are imagined or real, legitimate phobias or just stuff you put off doing because it scares you, make something that helps you and people who experience your work to overcome it.
As a bonus fear to overcome, a friend of ours is running the Medusalaire Jam, and she had the brilliant idea for an "introductions" thread. So, overcome your shyness and say hi in our community thread! 🙋♀️ Or REALLY overcome it and join our Discord server! 👋
PS: If you use the Medusalaire SRD to make a TTRPG, you can enter our jam and hers! Also, feel free to enter any jams in addition to ours, so long as your creation fits.
Face Your Fears Rules
- This jam is open to ALL forms of creations. ANYTHING. If you can upload it to Itch, it belongs. Analog or digital games, artwork, stories, zines, comics, music, literally ANYTHING!
- Creations must be family-friendly (not NSFW, no heavy swearing or gore, etc.) and cannot contain hate or bigotry toward marginalized groups!
- Use content warnings on your Itch pages and the work itself if you cover anything that deserves them.
- Items must be released on Itch during the jam period. No previously released items, please :D
- Creations must be HUMAN-MADE. We believe games, zines, music, and artwork are forms of expression, arts, and those require a person to capture their own interests and experiences when designing. The use of AI is not allowed. It's infinitely better to make something you consider crappy than to tell an AI to make something for you. 🧡💜
Some Ideas:
- Make something with someone else! SCARY!
- Going into the basement to flip a breaker when it goes out.
- Making it to the front of a line to order, but still not knowing what you want.
- Public bathrooms as a trans person.
- Entering the garage when you know there are spiders out there cuz ewwwwww.
- Finding a super cool doll at a flea market but it feels like it's watching you maybe?
