What could you make if your entire game had to revolve around one primary gameplay input?
That's the challenge.
Welcome to the first Forever Jamming Limitation jam.
Your job isn't simply to remove buttons from a normal game.
Your job is to design something that works because of the limitation.
A tiny arcade game.
A puzzle.
A horror game.
A platformer.
A strange experimental experience.
A completely insane idea.
Anything goes.
As long as you can make it work with one primary gameplay input.
Create a game where the player's core gameplay revolves around one primary input.
That could be:
The game can still have menus and basic system interactions.
I'm talking about the actual gameplay.
The central gameplay should revolve around one player input.
Don't technically use one button while secretly requiring six other gameplay inputs.
Use whatever engine or framework you want.
Horror, comedy, puzzle, platformer, strategy, narrative, arcade—anything.
You can work alone or collaborate.
You can use existing libraries, templates, tools and assets.
Always credit third-party material though.
You don't need a huge game.
A tiny idea works.
The aim isn't to make the biggest project.
The aim is to discover what you can do with a limitation.
Make your game without written words explaining the gameplay.
Teach the player through:
This is completely optional. (You will receive a special discord role if you do it though)
Everyone is welcome.
You can participate solo or as a team.
You don't need to be an experienced developer.
You don't need fancy graphics.
You don't need to make something enormous.
You just need an idea.
After submissions close, participants will rate the games.
Games will be rated on:
⭐ Overall ⭐ Use of Limitation ⭐ Gameplay ⭐ Creativity ⭐ Presentation
Please play as many games as you can and leave constructive comments for the developers.
The point is to find the best game and help devs improve.
Don't try too hard.
Don't try to make the biggest game.
Find one idea.
Push it.
Finish it.
Make something and try and finish it. Don't burn yourself out.
