One call. A thousand more hours. Your next game.

A small group of game developers set out to keep a voice call open in the Game Dev League Discord server. On November 2, 2026, that call reached 1,000 hours.

Now we're turning the next 1,000 hours into a game jam. Make whatever game you want, in whatever way you want, with whatever tools you want. Bring an idea you've been excited about, try something unfamiliar, or build a small game that shows what you love making.

How it works

  1. Join the community. Meet fellow developers in Game Dev League and share what you're working on.
  2. Create during the next 1,000 hours. Work solo or collaborate. Choose your own genre, scope, engine, and workflow.
  3. Submit when the call reaches 2,000 hours. Add your game to this jam by the deadline below, with a playable build and clear instructions.
  4. Play, review, and learn. Try each other's games, give useful feedback, and discover everyone's strengths.
  5. Build something together. After the jam, we plan to invite participants into roles on one shared game project, with the goal of a release on Steam.

Creative freedom

  • No required theme. Make the game you want to make.
  • Any tools or workflow. Use the engine, language, art tools, and development approach that work for you.
  • Any experience level. Small games, experiments, and playable prototypes are welcome.
  • Show your contribution. Tell us what you created or developed during the jam, and credit your collaborators and any third-party assets or tools.

Feedback over rankings

This is a non-ranked jam. The goal is to make games, share constructive feedback, and understand what each person brings to a team. When reviewing a submission, talk about what stood out, what you enjoyed, and one useful suggestion for its next iteration.

From individual games to one shared project

When the call reaches 2,000 hours, we'll review the submissions together and look for complementary strengths in design, programming, art, audio, writing, and production. Those conversations will help shape a team for a single collaborative game, aiming for a Steam release.

If that next step interests you, use the optional team-interest field when submitting to tell us which roles you'd enjoy. For this jam, focus on making something you're excited to share.

Make a game. Share what you can do. Find people to build with.
