Well done! Manage the bridge is a hard task, but so fun! :)
Such as cozy game. Loved the aesthetic, the water, the music and the overall vibe
Wooah, that is a very clever idea! Really love the take on the whole scale concept!
Great approach!
I tried to 'balance ' with putting the cubes under the scale to hold it, but was also a fail state haha, well covered!
As some people have mentioned, it lags a bit after level 3, but it's still a good submission!
Cool idea, lags a bit from level 3 onwards for me in the browser, also I failed level 3 after the boats left the screen with all the blocks on the board. Enjoyed puzzling out how to avoid the boats.
Hey thanks for play CuriousBlobfish yes that something i tried to fix, basicly that block in the middle is not in the safe zones, see the two on the sides are them, should show up as red, but ran out time to fix that! That on my for not being clear but i also wanted to try do no text chalange so then i was stuck between a rock and hard place, haha! Also not sure about lag, i think its godot not working too good, on my macbook it works great, but who knows on win/linux and othr browser, it also could be godot as there no loops that couod be creating lag so not sure, sorry!anyway glad you enjoyed it! :) thank for you comment again!
hey, that really strange! is this game or any browser game on itch? The game was build with GoDot 4.7 and ive made some changes to it already since uploaded but nothing major, just fixed bugs more so then change gameplay: anyway its added on the game page and here the link for you directy: https://github.com/Kivylius/squashed-kgj
If you get it running, wouild love you feedback on the game. thanks again for commenting :)
This is the only game that this ever happen so far, yours also lags my main browser so much it crashes when loading... But any ways, I've downloaded the source code to run locally. Overall I think it is a cool game, the only main feedback is making it clear where the blocks should be, on my first playthrough I put the block on the left and I still lost, then I got stuck on the first level until I tried doing the same thing again and it worked that time... Overall it is a pretty cool idea.
I thought the ambiance of the game was really relaxing, which was nice. I also ran into a lot of lag in the browser version after level 2, which caused some wacky physics glitches. The boats physically pushing the scale over is a hilarious fail condition.
I also noticed that because the cursor sets the (x,y,z) position of a block, I could just stack both sides full of blocks right away. Then I could grab one block to control the angle of the bridge by either lifting it up or pressing it into the bridge. I'm not sure if this is the intended way to play (essentially, putting your thumb on the scale!), but you could consider toggling the block physics off on click, then snapping their position to the scale if they overlap on release.
Wow, thank you for such a great long comment and feedback , mean a lot to me. Yes was going for relaxing vibe, great you spotted that. In terms of the lags, again im not sure why, you second person to say that, its seem to be ok on my mac laptop, but i think on window it may lag. i think i copied a boat over and godot create a random lag spike, becouse a simple undo still had lag, but then i reloaded the editor and seem to solve it but if you noticing, something still not correct.
in terms of the geniusl cheat, yes i knew about it, but i wanted a way for people to get thouth a levels without saying wow its too hard, but in a real game this be way to cheap i agree. So not intetional you correct, but left in becouse was kinda a fun life hack, (+ i ran out of time haha). Yea the block is a great idea i may add that if i get a chance! Again thanks for great feedback!
Very cool idea! Only one feedback: Since you launch the boxes from the sky they do not end at the same x axis. Which causes more physics challenge. If that's intention, then it's okay cause there is room to improve. But it feels too random to be a challenge. Other than that pretty cool concept with nice execution.
PS: After some levels it starts to lag, probably because it's on browser. Not your fault I think.
Thanks a lot for leaving such great feedback, mean a lot to me. Yes not intetional but i found it made it a bit more difficult, but agree for first play thouth can be a random and harder. Yea not sure why it lags, i think since i copied the boats, something in godot went funky, and then that copied over; funny tho on my mac is lags less then my gaming pc somehow, so defo something funky going on thanks for pointing it. Thanks again for nice comment and feedback :)
