Make A Bad Megaman Level

Goal

The goal of the jam is to make a 'bad' Mega Man level. This is a facetious and joking usage of the word, don't submit actually bad Mega Man levels (unless it's really funny in which case I will rank it high anyways). In short: either try to make a fun level that isn't boring or make a dumb level that makes me laugh.

Rules

You must submit one (1) level that you have created for a game. That game must either clearly be a fangame of Mega Man of some sort, or feel enough like Mega Man to be clearly identified as 'Mega Man'. The format can be just about anything as long as I can 'play' it. Obviously there should be nothing like viruses in the game, there should be no mature content such as gore or pornographic material (I don't wanna see that!), and please do not ask me to download more than one thing for your level unless it's Mega Maker.

ABSOLUTELY NO GenAI. The only robots in your game should be the little funny pixel sprite guys :]

History and Explanation

The focus of this jam is to combat the gatekeeping surrounding game design. I used to be involved in certain game design spaces when I was a lot younger and many people are very gatekeepey and rude when it comes to level design. This was especially noticeable in Mega Man fangame communities. Of course, I haven't interacted with these communities in a very long time and I'm sure they are completely chill now but there was definitely a time when it was hard to try something creative and be rewarded for it.

Judges and Criteria

I am the only judge. There are four criteria, here they are ranked in importance:

1. Fun/Awesome (Was it cool or fun or funny or tried something sick?)
2. Design (Was it actually fun to play?)
3. Theme (Were the visuals impressive? Was the music very fitting? Did the initial idea of the level seem cool?)
4. Is Megaman? (...Does it actually feel like Mega Man?)

The judging process will not be very scientific. More likely than not, I'll say something about your level is "cool" then rank it arbitrarily, so don't feel too bad if you were hoping your Leonardo DaVinci Masterwork level doesn't get the praise it deserves.

Alternate Methods of Submission

Are you submitting a Mega Maker level? How about something weird? Not everything like that can be submitted via Itch.io, in cases like that feel free to drop by my Discord Server linked HERE. There will be a place to submit non-standard Levels and I will include it in the rankings. It just won't show up in Itch,io, which is fine. My server will have more 'official' rankings, but feel free to just sit back and look at the Itch.io rankings if you don't care.
