the sprite work is fun, the dialogues made me chuckle, overall i had fun!
That's all any game developer can really ask for, that someone was happy had a good time with their game. I am glad you liked the humor! I haven't written anything for games before so I decided to just go with something light hearted and fun.
i really like the sprite work and the backgrounds remind me about the old rpg maker games! its very interesting
Thanks! Actually I'm gonna make the backgrounds sprites and the music all chiptune after this jam is over for a more retro feeling. Right now it's more like half chiptune and half spites.
Impossible to win on 4k 120hz monitor ... or im just bad? But i really liked the sprites! and the fact i was able to progress even tho i lose ^^
Haha yeah, yeah the difficulty definitely needed some tweaking and fine tuning, but I ran out of time at the end.
One tip I have is not concentrating on all of the arrows. If you only concentrate on 3 of them instead of 4 it becomes easier.
Also if you use a controller if you have one, I think it's much easier than using the keyboard.
Yeah things like level select and adding lives, it helps out at lot.
Now that the jam is over, I just added a difficulty select to the last minigame to make things possible without adding extra lives, as well as a whole bunch of other features. You also no longer "need to be a professor" to run the game, it just works in the web browser right away. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your valued feedback on this game, it made me a better developer overall and I'm going to keep making games and keep on getting better.
Interesting little collection of mini games, one thing that I really adore is the text animation, it really pops and makes the dialogue look so much more dynamic. Also enjoying the little pixel art characters, nice!
Glad you enjoyed it, Yeah text can say so much, it should never be static. All the little details really bring the game to life, especially in these long visual novel type games. The little pixel art characters definitely add some charm - lots of cool little details in them as well like Pete's headband, etc.
If you are having trouble beating the 3rd stage
You can press the "l" key (lowercase L key) to add more lives.
(You can do this multiple times and add as many lives as needed)
Although as a challenge it may be possible to beat it without adding more lives...
