The THEME🧐
The New Wierd Game Jam, just like all of the Old Wierd Game Jams, has a theme:
SWEET DREAMS!!
Make a game about sweet dreams! Could be anything dream-related, the dreams don't have to be sweet, or the sweets don't have to be dreamed. Build your game around the theme!
The RULES😨
- Can I Join? Yes, the New Wierd Game Jam is looking for people that can produce the New Wierd Games that we all crave, and this could just be you! Or it couldn't. The New Wierd Game Jam is a gamble. And the moment you realise that you will unserstand just how awesome the New Wierd Game Jam is!
- Can I for some unknown reason restrain myself from making my game Wierd?
- Can I know more about the theme? The New Wierd Game Jam features a New Wierd Theme which you may include in your game, but if your New Wierd Idea is better you can just make it your way! Just make sure to make it stand out from all the normal games, in other words including the theme allows you to also submit the same game to multiple other jams at once
- Can I express all my feelings to that one annoying guy or to life in general in my game?
- Can a human help me? Yes, teams can be of any size, shape and color! Just make sure to credit those who assisted you in your wierd journey, otherwise you're all alone on that one guy you forgot about
- Can a non-human help me? Unless you're talking about emotional support from pets or divine intervention (both of which are allowed and encouraged) you cannot add AI content in your game UNLESS it is completely obvious that it was made by AI (so you may add italian brainrot to your game if your heart sees it as a nessessary thing to do), this allows us to still judge New Wierd Games accordingly
- Can my game be so Wierd to the point that it's unplayable? Asking players to download external files will not let you gain trust of many people playing the game (i hope so). Otherwise unusual controls, visuals, play styles and anything else that is Wierd can lead to a Newer Wierder Game that may take the spotlight!
- Can I use external assets for my game? Just like all the other Normal Game Jams this jam has a submission peroid for a reason: to give us a game-making excersize of making a game, planning and working under stress in a short amount of time. However, because you would use some assets for your non-game-jam game anyways, you can use game assets to save some time, just remember to credit the creator of the assets!

- Wierdness (the main criteria): How wierd and unnatural the game is in your eyes, sounds straightforward and is straightforward
- Originality: Everything boring has already been made or considered. This criteria is for how much the game sets itself apart from everything that already exists
- The theme fitness: How well is the theme implemented in the game, how much of it is presented and how much it affects the general game experience
- Art: For art, music, sounds, story and everything non-gameplay in the game
- Gameplay: For the general game experience you had with the game
