Nodnin Studio was founded on the idea of new beginnings. In honor of our mission, the Nod-vember Game Jam theme is renewal.

Every new day offers new possibilities. A journey begins, a mistake becomes opportunity, or something old makes way for something new.

Create a game inspired by the feeling, symbolism, or possibilities of a new beginning or something renewed. Interpret the theme however you'd like: cozy or unsettling, hopeful or melancholic, grounded or fantastical. Your game does not need to feature a sunrise or take place in the morning.

A new day is waiting. What will you make of it?

Rules

• Absolutely NO Generative AI is allowed.
• Who Can Participate: Anyone regardless of experience, solo or teams of up to 5. 18+ only
• Participation is free. No purchase, paid software, or entry fee is required.
• Your game does not need to be perfect or polished.
• Development Period: Games must be created during the official game period. You may use your preferred game engine, programming languages, and development tools (with the exception of AI tools).
• You may use free or paid third-party assets provided you have the appropriate rights or license.
• Only one game per team may be submitted. Your project must include a title and description, playable build, controls and game play instructions, and credits and relevant asset licenses.
• You may upload your entry up to the submission deadline. After the deadline, submitted game builds are considered final for judging.
• Participants retain ownership of their games and original intellectual property. 
• By submitting, you grant Nodnin Studios permission to display, play, showcase, and promote your entry in connection with the jam, including through reasonable promotional posts, livestreams, and event recaps, with appropriate credit. This permission does NOT transfer ownership of your game to Nodnin Studios.
• Conduct: Treat other participants, judges, and organizers respectfully. Harassment, discrimination, plagiarism, malicious submissions, and deliberate attempts to manipulate voting are prohibited. Do not use assets or content you do not have permission to distribute. Do not interfere with another participant's work or submission. Nodnin Studios reserves the right to review reported violations and remove entries that breach these rules. 
• Judging & Voting: Participants must vote honestly and in good faith. Do not create alternate accounts or coordinate dishonest votes. Nodnin Studios reserves the right to disqualify entries that violate the rules or compromise the integrity of the event. 
• Accessibility: We encourage browser-playable games and accessible controls, but other platforms and formats are welcome if they can be evaluated reliably. If your game has specific hardware or software requirements, please state them clearly on the submission page.
