I like these kinds of games, and I think it’s nicely done for such a small resolution. I would have liked a bit more feedback on whether I’m doing well or badly, unless I just missed something. But overall, it’s a nice game!

Nice game, I wasn't expecting a city manager due to the jam restrictions but you made it happened. Maybe a little bit more explanation in the description would help. Like, how do you win, what happens when you stack a house on top of each other. But other than that a pretty nice game. Congrats

Thank you! The game really needs a tutorial and it almost had one, I had a character designed and everything. Just timing issues and my inexperiance...

In my head, "stacking" homes on top of other ones is supposed to represent expanding of residential areas, So does with parks.

Don't worry man. You did a great job with the game in the time we had!
Yeah, I figured that stacking would mean exactly that, and I stacked them as much as I could. I was just not sure. Maybe if there was a score indicating that I did a good thing it would have been better.
But yeah, congrats!

Liked it! Small but entertaing game. The difficulty it’s the lack of information on what to do, but can evolve in the future

I enjoyed the game. I didn't think I'd see a city manager in this jam but it works well here. I like how intuitive the design is, its very easy to figure out what you can do by just simply messing around. When I did win I genuinely did want to play more.

Developer

Wow, yes! I was aiming for it to be as intuitive as possible, but I'm still planning to add a tutorial for the first day.

I had this idea since I played The Block. It felt like such a simple idea can turn into a simple game. That is the game, or at least the game I can program in 4 days 😁.

Like others have said, I'm not sure I got what was going on, but this seems like you're on to an interesting puzzle game. Keep working on this after the jam, I think you've got something here!

I really like the way it looks. The visuals and UI are very good.
I didn't quite understand it, but it seems I won very quickly (in a single night).

Developer

Wow thanks, the looks came straight from the challenge restrictions. Once it was clear 6*6 is the biggest sprite size to make the game "work", the blocks practically drew themselves.

The difficulty is still off as I was getting to the last hours and the math just never gave me the right 'feel'. If I'll ever go back I'll tweek it and add tutorial, For sure.

Congrats on the game, bro. it turned out great.

Thank you.

It is the first complete game I've programmed from scratch. Wish I could make it look more professional but man... Getting stuff to playable state is so fulfilling.
