NovemBird is a avian-themed furry game jam and the third NovemJam, following last year’s Novembuck.

Anyone wishing to participate will be tasked with making a Furry (or Feathery) Visual Novel in one month, during the month of November, to be finished by November 30 – ready to be enjoyed for the winter holiday season! You can work on your own or with a team.

This winter-time jam is focused on creating a chill creative environment. It's an unranked jam, meant to connect like-minded people. There will be no voting on submissions, and no awards. However, as in previous years, there will be staff picks for our personal favourites.

The birds are rebelling, no more working for the bourgeoisie, it’s time for revolution!

Whether that’s punks, protests, counterculture, or a different kind of anarchy entirely, now is your chance to stir up some chaos and give a feathery finger to “the man”!

This year’s optional theme is: “Anarchy in the Aviary”

At the end of the jam, the Novemjam team will each vote on a game they feel has the “best theme implementation". Only jams that use the theme will be considered for this category.

  • Your Visual Novel must feature a Bird.
The Bird must appear narratively and visually.
  • You must be 18 years or older to participate.
Participants are free to submit NSFW and adult-only stories if they wish to. As such, this is not a space for minors.
  • You can only work on your project during the month of November.
The point of the game jam is to challenge yourself and see what you are able to create in one month. Your submission must remain untouched for the following month, then you may update it, if you wish, after December 31st.
  • Any asset used in the game must be either:
    1. Part of the pre-made assets provided for this jam (by us, or the Novemjam community at large )
    2. Something you (or someone else in your team) made or commissioned for use in your project, within the one-month time limit.
    3. Something you have the right to use and can be used by anyone for free (e.g. public domain, Creative Commons, etc.)
  • No use of Generative AI.
Games found using it will be immediately disqualified.
