Description
The story takes place in a village with a tradition that every child must explore and reach the end of a crystal cave before coming of age. It leads to a secret world with animals and fairies welcoming visitors and singing together. Once the visitor becomes an adult and leaves the place, they lose the memory of the secret world, but only the song they sang will be remembered forever.

1. Departure

The main theme of the game. You were about to explore the cave following the tradition that every child must explore and reach the end of a crystal cave before coming of age. Your family stood at the entrance waving and singing the unknown song, seeing you off.

2. Into the Depths

You traveled through the cave uncomfortably for a long time. It's silent, yet illuminated by the shimmering crystal light. You discovered some faint drawing and some forgotten traces of those who had walked these paths long ago.

3. Meadow Fables

The end of the tunnel opened up into an otherworldly sanctuary. There are animals and fairies welcoming you and teaching you to sing together. Here, communication took the form of melodies shared between you and them.

4. Calling Across Time

You were about to be 18, but you played for days, completely forgetful of home. Yet, you found a crystal accessory, which every adult villager had one. You realized all the adults in the village had once stayed in this place, and they all chose to leave this wonderful place and return to their home. You then held the crystal and determined to leave the place.

5. Heading Home

The ending theme of the song. You were reluctant to leave the sanctuary, but it is time to go. The entrance of the sanctuary started to collapse, and the memory of it slipped through your fingers as you ran further. You can hardly recall the times you spent with those animals and fairies or the sanctuary, but a lingering melody still stays in your mind. You sang the forgotten song that only you know, walking through the cave heading home.

Message from the artist
This is my first time joining a gaming jam. Spending most of the time in composing almost forgetting the mixing part but still I manage to finish it.

The 1st and 5th tracks are the main theme and ending theme and making the 2nd, 3rd and 4th tracks loopable for every scene in the game. Make it more ost-like.

If you don't have time to listen to all of them, I suggest you listen to the 5th track, Heading Home. It is probably the best one I have written before. Enjoy!

I like the variation in instrumental styles. With the driving string spiccato in the Meadows track, a more sentimental track with bells for track 4, and the lovely piano solos for tracks 1 and 5. My favorite was the 5th track. I feel like you showed some nice voice leading with piano arpeggios and other variations. The harmonic language was nice too. I heard some chromaticism alongside the natural minor key, which added some nice touches of dissonance. Certain aspects of your earlier tracks were too repetitive, as was evident in Track 3, with the string spiccato playing 8th notes. I think you could have also added light percussion and a soundscape to really draw me into the setting. Also, the orchestration didn't feel full when it should have been such as the emotional climax of Track 1. Good job regardless!

I really liked Into the Depths! The filtered piano sound sounds really nice with the strings.

Wonderful work! I love the light tinkling evoking a music box in "Calling Across Time." Great job!

Wow, I love the concept and music :)

At around 1:15 for Departure, I would have loved to hear more depth in the lower range (double bass), perhaps it could enhance the sense of departure. Overall, I enjoyed the chord progressions you used across your tracks, especially in Meadow Fables and Heading Home!
