Description
It's an orchestral fantasy soundtrack, for a fantasy adventure game, rpg or jrpg. I composed the tracks using Cubase 14 Pro with Spitfire Symphonic Orchestra and a piano vst. The tracks are all titled for the themes :)
Message from the artist
Hi! I don't have much to say! This was fun though? maybe a little stressfull? I wish I had time to polish more!
Oh by the way ALL of these tracks loop, some with an intro section, some without. If you want the sections for your own project please comment or message me on discord (idkayuk)
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
The theme is fantastical so I made a fairly conventional fantasy soundtrack but with some extra sauce on top. If you like weird ass discordant music with cool chord progs check out some of these bad boys!

Main Menu Theme
Very expressive strings. It makes me want to click on the play button to discover what's behind.
Town Theme
Lovely track. The instrument change at 1:14 was perfect. Very romantic track.
Exploration Theme
Very cool track ! It sounds so powerful. Really gracious and enthusiastic feel. And that woodwinds section was so really beautiful.
Mystery Theme
Funny track. Near 3:00 the clarinet was feeling a bit repetitive, I would have switched to a bassoon or something else in the 2nd repetition of the theme.
Battle Theme
Pretty cool track. The brass really creates a lot of rhythm and tension. Though, I feel like it lacked some kind of impacts. Maybe with some cymbal crashes ? But the harmony on the strings was just gorgeous.
Bad Guy Theme
Fits really well for a bad guy theme.
At 0:38, we can hear the strings restarting to play at each chord, no matter the note, which breaks a little bit the immersion. I would merge some notes so that the strings that play the same note don't stop playing between chords, and would eventually add some pedal notes just to make a smoother transition between the chords.
Really reall good submission ! The tracks are so expressive and powerful, it was a delight to listen to it. Amazing job and congrats for finishing the jam.
Thank you so much for all the feedback! Yeah the strings in the bad guy theme were bugging out a bit, I think too many simulataneous voices or something? The samples just wanted to misbehave! I ran out of time before I could completely fix it.... Talking like minutes before submission LOL. As for the Battle + Mystery Themes, could be right! Might do an album rerelease with some remastering as well. :)
Always glad when someone bets on an orchestral score :) the Town Theme is lovely and the Exploration Theme has a really well built set of crescendos, which echo with me emotionally. I also really enjoyed the Mystery Theme but I find it more goofy than mystery-like, as when some character is doing something silly. I would love to hear the Battle Theme and the Bad Guy Theme played by a real orchestra, though, SSO doesn’t do them justice here. Really great soundtrack!
Thanks for the feedback! Orchestral is definitely more of an investment especially with the time constraint haha. It's really nice to hear someone say that they'd like to hear my music played by a live orchestra. Maybe some day when I'm a little more established lol. I wanted the mystery theme to specifically be a puzzle solving style piece, something more off beat and a break from the action style sounds of the other tracks if that makes sense. Maybe that provides some more dimension to the style? I'll take your feedback onboard anyways though. Thanks again!
i like it, very pretty and sweeping, reminds me of the dragon quest ds game that i was terrible at as a kid. my kitten walked up and hit the mute button while i was listening but just ignore her she sucks. good job!
Dragon quest: rocket slime isn't mainline dragon quest but it is unironically one of my all time favourite games... Sorry if I offended your cat though lmao.
that actually looks fun as hell im going to play it
Loving the nostalgic sound! It really does feel like classic rpg music. The Town Theme especially sounds very pokemon.
Thanks! I was def taking big jrpg inspiration. My pokemon games growing up would've been pokemon diamond/pearl/platinum and then heartgold.
Good composition. Your soundtrack makes me find my 3DS and play some games on it again. Also, I can’t download your soundtrack, only SoundCloud available, don’t know if it’s intended
Hey, thanks! Love me some fantasy DS games lowkey... I fixed the download now :)
