Welcome to Pigeon Game Jam #1 — a game jam where pigeons take over the world of video games.
Make a game about pigeons, with pigeons, or simply involving pigeons in a meaningful way. It can be serious, funny, chaotic, wholesome, competitive, weird, or completely ridiculous.
The only real requirement:
MAKE A PIGEON GAME. 🐦
Create a game during the jam that features pigeons as an important part of the experience.
Your pigeon could be:
There are no limits on genre.
Platformer? Sure.
FPS? Sure.
Racing game? Absolutely.
Puzzle game? Yes.
Horror game? If your pigeons can survive it.
Pigeon simulator? YES.
You can use existing tools, engines, libraries, templates, and your own previously-created assets.
However, the actual game you submit should be created or substantially developed during the jam.
A pigeon should be an important part of your game.
Simply putting one tiny pigeon in the background does not really count.
Use whatever you like.
Examples:
You can submit:
Make sure players know how to run your game.
You can participate alone or with other people.
There is no maximum team size.
You may use:
Always follow the license of assets you didn't create yourself.
AI tools are allowed, but be transparent about their use.
If you use AI-generated art, music, code, voice, or other significant content, mention it in your game's description.
Do not use copyrighted material that you do not have permission to use.
Do not submit malware, viruses, intentionally harmful software, or anything designed to damage another participant's computer.
The official jam start and submission deadline are shown at the top of this page.
Games submitted after the deadline may not be eligible for judging.
Make sure you upload your game before the deadline rather than waiting until the final minute.
After submissions close, there will be a voting period.
Participants can rate games according to the jam's voting categories.
How fun and enjoyable is the game?
How good are the visuals, UI, animation, and overall presentation?
How well do the music and sound effects fit the game?
How interesting and original is the idea?
How well does the game use pigeons?
How much fun did you have playing it?
Depending on the number of submissions, we may give awards such as:

Screenshots and a trailer are highly recommended.
Teams are welcome!
If multiple people worked on your game, list everyone who contributed in the credits.
Your team can be one pigeon.
Or twenty pigeons.
We don't judge.
Your game does not need to be perfect.
Game jams are about making something, experimenting, and having fun.
If your pigeon gets stuck inside a wall, your game crashes when someone presses Q, or your final boss is accidentally three times bigger than intended...
That's part of the jam experience.
Just make sure the submitted version is playable enough for people to experience your game.
Please:
Competition is optional.
Pigeon friendship is mandatory.
There is only one truly important rule:
It doesn't need to be huge.
It doesn't need to be perfect.
It doesn't need AAA graphics.
It just needs to be your pigeon game.
Whether you spend the jam making a tiny pigeon platformer, a massive pigeon strategy game, a pigeon FPS, a pigeon football simulator, or something nobody has ever thought of before...
