  • Did not expect a tutorial to shame me /j I liked the title and liked the game even more! Such a simple mechanic yet still so addicting! The music is uplifting and fun (depending on which track is playing, but already the title music is so chill!) and goes perfectly with your game. Everything is explained (kudos for including a tutorial, and even without it the game is straight forward so easy to understand) and the mechanics are simple enough so players shouldn't really run into any issues. There was the occasional missing sound effect when clicking too fast, but that's not a big issue at all. The UI is clear, there's a bunch of upgrades that all make sense and giving options for the music that's currently playing (or not) is such a nice detail. Getting only one spoon a day is a theme well implemented, even though it leaves the player starving on some days ;) You made a really neat game here, I enjoyed playing it and will a bit more later. Thank you for participating in the game jam, I hope you enjoyed working on your game and learned a few things. Well done!

Have you checked that your GDD is publicly accessible ?
Yes

Is your game set to public on itch.io so we can see it?
Yes

Summarize your game!
A Spoon Full of Sugar is a 2D casual game about scooping fruit loops, upgrading stuff into oblivion and chasing higher and higher scores.

Please explain how your game fits the theme.
You only have one spoon per day!

Is there anything you'd like the judges to pay particular attention to?
The radio :) it wasn't necessary, but you know. Also some content unlocks around day 25, but I don't expect judges to grind till then.

Very addicting game for sure. Numbers go brr. I like that.
Started and got stuck with it for multiple hours. Played to a high score of 248.307.000.000.000
Time well spent. Also I'm hungry now!

This game is addicting! Pro gamer tip: Fruit Loop Amount: 737 is too much it over flows the bowl. Adding 7070 Milk to that, will take like 20 minutes to finish pouring and you won't even beat your high score of 20234600000000 with it. Great game, loved it.

Thank you for the tips! If I open an eat-sports team, I will teach them exactly that!

By far the most unique "large number" non-idle idle game ive ever played. A funny idea of maximizing a bite of cereal. Wonder how that idea even crosses the mind lol.

Great work, having a massively, massively full bowl of cereal and a monstrous bite is super funny. Great work, most polished experience I have come across yet this jam. You should be very proud of this one!

Thank you so much for your kind words! It was a bit of a process of trying to combine things. While watching the stream for deciding this jam's theme, I was joking around with peeps on discord on making a fruit loop game (cause it seemed loops will win). Anyway it didn't but decided with another dev buddy to make a fruit loop game anyway (separate games tho). So I had to combine that with the "Only One" theme. I also wanted a game where I can learn a bit how to handle physics bodies cause I wasn't super familiar with it before. First kinda thought about making a Suika like game with the fruit loops, but that didn't really fit the theme. But I remember I loved playing upgrade games and tried around with that idea. It definitely helped I had a lot of time the last 2 weeks to just sit on it.

At first I didn't understand how to use the spoon but after I got it down I was quickly addicted! I got to a high score of around 25000 before I stopped! My favorite color is green so it was fun maxing it out and trying to get it each time.

Developer

Thank you for playing my game! <3 I eventually wanna add more specific color related powers/upgrades when the jam is over and we can update again (didn't make it in time unfortunately).

this game made me understand the weakness of my flesh.

It has been made clear to my very eyes that i don't breakfast the way the universe intended me to.

you have to put the cereal first; that fact is undelyable now that i see the truth through this sugar rush.

my mind is sugar, my blood is sugar, i breathe sugar, my milk is composed of 23513564654 g/L of sugar, i have in me enough sugar to power a small city, and this only from a month of eating SUGAR!!!

jokes aside, i really like this game, it's simple and addictive because big number goes BRRRRRRRR, and the fact that your spoon gets BEEG is funny to me.

This is the most beautiful, chaotic review ever! <3 Thank you so much for your feedback and for letting my silly spoon game awaken your inner breakfast warrior. =) I’m aiming to get ascension into the game by Thursday - then numbers should go even more BRRRRRRRR. Please stay safe, though… sugar shocks are not to be underestimated.

Suprisingly addictive =) But it took me about a "week" to learn how to use spoon. I thought it was drag-and-drop.

Developer(+2)

To master the spoon is no simple feat. One does not drag-and-drop, but click-and-click again, until understanding flows like milk.

Thank you for your feedback :) <3
