PSX Horror Jam

 Theme in three words: Liminal, violence and [REDACTED UNTIL 10/05/2026]

 The PSX Horror Ham is a 2 month jam that starts from May 10th to July 10th, and we want to provide a space for developers to experiment and show their artistic drive. (And maybe one day make a banger.)

What are the rules for the participants in the Jam?

• Teams from 1 to 6 devs are going to be formed to make a horror game based on the PSX style. Although a fixed style it's not required, an exploration over this nostalgic style is more than welcome.

• The theme of the horror game will be revealed May 10th (2026 dahh)

• AI IS A WAR CRIME HERE! SO NO. DON'T USE IT!!! You and your ENTIRE TIME will be banned! (Use your discord for questions and make part on this Game Jam)

• NSFW subjects and themes are allowed, but you MUST give content warnings. (And also no promotion of bigotry)

THEMES

“Do you want to know a SECRET? I was born in an IMPOSSIBLY EMPTY ROOM without my mom. I have suffered severe VIOLENCE both physically and mentally to be this way. And I love the feeling of [REDACTED]. It makes me feel superior to everyone.”

1st - Liminar spaces/ Cryptic infinite spaces that contrast with reality. Maybe a surreal dream?

 2nd - Violence being the protagonist/protagonists suffering or causing it. It doesn’t matter if it’s physical or emotional or mental. It doesn’t need to be gross. Just real.

 3nd - [Redacted]

WHEN the redacted theme is going to be revealed?. It's only going to be revealed only after the submissions are closed on the Discord and Itch.io will be updated as well. (We will link a VIDEO with a recap and the REVEAL OF THE THEMES.)

What? EVENTS?! What is FEED ME FEEDBACK?!?! 

YES, events. We are going to have two events before the main deadline that encourages feedback between the game devs and explore more of those 2 months as you can.

1. Time for FEED ME FEEDBACK 06/10/2026 On June 10th marks the end of the first month inside the Game Jam and the first FEED ME FEEDBACK.
2. 07/04/2026 There is only one week left. I can feel the stress in the air, but it doesn't need to be like that. Let the community help you in the moment you need the most.

It highly recommended your presence on discord, so that: team can be formed as fast as possible or you can chill with your sole and independent presence as an indie game dev and show what you have created and what you are proud to make. 

Winner? 

After the 10th of July and all the tension is over. All the games submitted are going up for voting until 11th of July and also we are going to have some juries that are going to influence the final decision. The juries will be on the 10th. If the community wants a specific person to be on a jury, a small youtuber or something like it, we will try our best to have them there to be the jury.

They are not the adms in the Discord as they are also going to participate in the Jam.

Unfortunately, currently there is no monetary reward for the winner/s, however THIS can change if you can donate and we the prize poll will EVERY DOLLAR DONATED.

The Ko-fi is going to be where you can make the donations. Ask for staff members on Discord for help with that if needed. This would mean a lot if we could have a prize pool in our first Game Jam. I personally would be very happppy to reward the winner/s of this Game Jam with a prize pool.
