Create a game where silhouettes are at the center of the experience.
Silhouette Jam is a community game development competition open to developers of all experience levels. Whether you're making a platformer, puzzle game, action game, horror game, or something completely different, the goal is to explore the creative possibilities of silhouette-based visuals.
There are no restrictions on game engines or programming languages. Focus on making something creative, enjoyable, and visually interesting.
Your game should use silhouettes as a major part of its visual identity. Characters, environments, objects, lighting, and shadows can all contribute to your interpretation of the theme.
You have creative freedom in how you approach it. The goal isn't to make every game look the same, but to see how differently developers can interpret a shared visual concept.
This is a ranked jam. Participants will rate eligible entries during the voting period.
Entries will be rated in three categories:
Each category uses a five-star rating system. Overall rankings will be calculated from the average of the three categories.
Please rate games fairly and honestly. The goal is to recognize creative work and help developers improve.
The jam will run for 14 days of development, followed by 7 days of voting.
Check the dates displayed on the jam page for the exact submission deadline and voting period.
Submit your game through the jam's itch.io submission page before the deadline.
Your project page should include:
Incomplete, inaccessible, or unrelated submissions may be removed from the jam.
The aim of Silhouette Jam is to bring developers together, encourage experimentation, and showcase creative games.
Make something small or ambitious, experiment with the theme, and enjoy seeing what the community creates.
Good luck, and have fun developing!
