~ Please only submit ONE image or gif. If you would like to make a sprite sheet, all your game assets should be consolidated in one image/gif.
~ There is no resolution limit! But keep this in mind - whether or not something is considered "pixel art" will be up to my discretion, so if you are unsure please ask. Your canvas shouldn't be pushing 200px unless you've made a really detailed landscape or something.
~ Draw your pixels mostly "by hand" - no 3d to 2d pipeline and obviously no tracing someone else's art or AI art.
~ No NSFW, offensive, or discriminatory content. Be chill.
~ Use this color palette! I know it will feel limiting for some, but "challenge" is in the name after all ;) Avoid using transparencies or gradients that add new in-between colors. Click these links to download the hex codes, gpl, or png.

Overall rating! Consider enjoyment, skill, charm, or anything else that matters to you.
Whether you think it embodies the theme perfectly or is a unique interpretation of it. Check out the artist's statement!
You are required to use the given color palette! You don't need to use every color, but you cannot add other colors (not even black or white!).

1). Upload new project and title it however you wish.
2). Set Classification to "other" or "game assets".
3). Set Kind of project to "downloadable".
4). Scale up your pixel art (usually a setting when exporting from your art program) and use that picture/gif as both your Cover Image and as a Screenshot. Can be PNG, JPG, or GIF if animated.
5). Upload files if you want, but we only need to see them in the cover image/screenshot.
6). At the very bottom, make sure Visibility & access is set to "Public". You may need to save the draft first and then publish it.
7). Come back to the jam page and "join jam" if you haven't yet, otherwise press "submit your project" and then choose your project and answer the couple questions that are asked. You did it!
Just one entry per person please, and remember it's one image/gif for your entry.
NOPE - it's like a jam but just for pixel art! It's a challenge where participants are tasked with creating a piece of art based on a theme that is revealed at the beginning of the event. The participants will be given a short time frame to create the artwork, in this case you have 48 hours to create your work!
You will receive a special role in the Discord (and bragging rights!).
Nope, we don't expect you to dedicate your whole weekend to it. 48 hours is just so more people can find the time to participate. If it only takes 30 minutes to finish your one thing, that's just fine.
Rating is done by the participants, using itchio's five star per category system.
If you need to update your project page before the submission window closes, you can. You cannot update images during the voting period. DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE! There are no exceptions for late submissions, including technical difficulties.
The intention is one artist per submission, but you are free to get feedback from friends and make changes before you submit.
