Monster Taming TTRPG Jam

Monsters, creatures, spirits, companions: tabletop roleplaying games are full of them.

But what happens when we put the relationship with those beings at the very center of the game?

This jam invites you to design a brand new TTRPG that explores the idea of capturing, taming, summoning, or bonding with monsters.

What you can create

An original tabletop roleplaying game designed specifically for this jam.

Your game should be self-contained: not a hack, not a supplement, not an adventure or campaign.

Any style is welcome: solo RPGs, GM-less systems, group play, or experimental formats.

Guidelines

Any interpretation of the theme is valid: from classic monster catching to emotional bonds, from battles to magical rituals.

Avoid direct references to protected IPs (no Pokémon, Digimon, etc.): create your own creatures and worlds.

Any format is accepted: PDF, HTML, zine, and more.

Submissions can be solo or collaborative.

Timeline

Start: October 1

Deadline: October 31

Not a competition

This is a collaborative jam. There are no winners or prizes.

Inspirations:

Ecosystems of monsters that grow and evolve.

Creatures as friends, enemies, reflections, or metaphors.

 Trainers, guardians, hunters, or summoners.

  Fusions, mutations, and spiritual bonds.

Now it’s your turn: design, catch, and

unleash your imagination.
