Two Weeks to Ship

Make a playable game in 14 days. No excuses. Just ship.

🚀 The Challenge

Welcome to the *Two Weeks to Ship* game jam! Your challenge is simple:

  • Create a playable game within 14 days.
  • Scope small. Cut features. Finish it.
  • Focus on completing something playable and fun.

This jam is all about managing your scope and getting things done. Time is the key!

🧱 Rules

  • Build Time: 14 days (from the start date)
  • Submission Deadline: Game must be submitted by the end of the 14th day.
  • Playable Build: You must submit a *playable* game, no prototypes or demos.
  • Controls: Your game must include clear controls.
  • Game Goal: Your game must have an objective, even if minimal.

⭐ Judging Criteria

Games will be judged based on the following:

  • Gameplay: Is it fun to play?
  • Scope Control: Did you focus on finishing something cohesive?
  • Creativity: How interesting are the ideas within the time limit?
  • Polish: How much "juice" does the game have? Smoothness, feel, and feedback.

🛠 Engine / Tools

You can use any tools or engines you'd like for this jam. Recommended engines include:

  • Godot (open-source and perfect for fast development)
  • Unity (great for both 2D and 3D games)
  • GameMaker, Construct, Unreal Engine, and more (see the community tab for an exhaustive list)!

Just make sure to disclose if you're using any pre-made assets.

📦 Submission Requirements

  • Your game must be a playable build (browser preferred, but desktop builds are fine).
  • You must include a description of the game, how to play it, and any important details.
  • If you used any pre-made assets, make sure to disclose them.

🎯 The Goal

The goal is simple: Get something **playable** and **fun** out the door. No matter what, you’ll learn the value of scope and finishing what you start.

Remember, "done is better than perfect" in this jam!

📝 Optional Theme

While there is no required theme for the jam, here are some fun ideas to spark your creativity:

  • “Last Chance”
  • “Unstable”
  • “One Mechanic”

Feel free to add your own twist to the theme, or completely ignore it—it's optional!

💡 Final Advice

Don't try to do everything. This jam is about making something **polished**, not overloaded.

Focus on core mechanics and finish what you start. You’ll get way more out of it than trying to create something “perfect”!

Good luck, and remember: Ship it!
