This game is truly amazing! The creativity, polish, and engaging gameplay make it a standout. You can see the passion and effort that went into every detail. Fantastic work! :D
Beautiful and fun but some issues with the settings menu crashing the game and not sure if this was on purpose or not but the charismatic perk gives you infinite money by just selling with it on and buying your stuff back with it off
This was a nice game to play but I feel like the fuel bar was just, too low. I could most of the time not even get out off shore and get one fish and get back. Maybe spawning fish closer to the docks would work because I litteraly could not play half of the time.
Other than that the sound sliders didn't really work properly in the menu and blasted my ears at one point.
The graphics were really good though and the sound effects were nice to listen to. I enjoyed it.
This game is great, I thoroughly enjoyed playing. I really like the inclusion of the card dex too, it's really cool seeing everything you've collected.
This game was really fun. I think it's best game from this jam I've played so far.
So to even say something bad about the game I is really hard. I think the game functions as is. But I think for example if fuel would be constantly consumed (but only by a little) even when fishing it will add some more depth to the gameplay. There would be choice not to fish as specific point also fishing would require more skill because the faster you catch fish the better.
Only confusing thing about the game is needing to pick up the fish you caught. I get that if you have almost full inventory you don't want to pick up every fish, but it took me some time to realise I wasn't picking my fish. Maybe having option to drop items from inventory would be more clear.
But these are just minor points that would made the game even better and the game already good is.
Edit:
Really loved the economy in this game.
Wow, the pixel art looks amazing! I really liked the waves too. Very polished game!
a relaxing, fun and beautiful game!
amazing how much you've accomplished in just one week!
Overall relaxing and nice, fits the theme pretty well, however UI navigation is confusing I quit the game on accident Xd
I would be happy if I could leave inventory on ESC instead of leaving fullscreen...
Really nice game. I did manage to catch some fish but the spots kept spawning too far away. Love the art.
Real relaxing game to just fish and sell! Definitely had dredge vibes.
Some bugs I found:
I played quiet some while and didn't had a sturdy boat yet, maybe try for a jam game to lower the playtime a lot cause people wanna play other games as well so like a 5 to 10 min game is really the max for these games.
The game is really good build tho, love the art-style and music and sound are good (when not messing with settings). Well done!
Thanks a lot for the feedbacks ! Yeah, it might be a little repetitive for the unluckiest people due to the spawn RNG unfortunately, we'll definitely better balance the game next time ahah.
As for the QA, thanks a lot, already working on fixing and improving this to further expend it into a real game hopefully !
I loved the idea of taking inspiration from Dredge to make something in 2D. It was one of those things that you don't know you need until you see it. I really loved the game!
Thanks a lot, that's what we though too at first, a boat side-scroll means sacrificing verticality so we were not sure it was gonna work but on our own POV it does so we're quite happy with how this turned out ! Hopefully it will work as well when we'll expend the world further :)
I had a good time playing this game.
The mechanic to catch fishes or cards was fun and getting the card in the ocean is a good challenge. The visuals are good, I like the little town and the drawings of the cards.
One thing I noticed it’s that when you move the controls in the audio, those go too loud after starting the game, I don’t know if it’s only the web version but I had to restart the game for this and not move anything in the options haha.
Also when you get the gold card/study shell from the sea it says it’s common and I don’t know if it should be a legendary rarity for the color. And I think those were the “bugs” I found in my gameplay. The other stuff was fun, I couldn’t complete the carddex, I missed 2 fishes and 2 cards with something that looked rounded in the objects. Good thing you can get the card you need in the sea because when I saw the price in the store, I felt I would need some time to get at that point.
I liked the heavy oil tank and the purple turbine, making going in the boat fun and speedy. I think I would liked 1 slot more in the special cards and a bit more of fish spawners, I got a lot of cards and little fishes, more in the ocean.
Great job doing this game in 1 week, was fun! :)
Hey, we're delighted that you enjoyed our game !
About the settingsn that's not an issue proper to your version. Some players already gave us this feedback (someone even almost had a heart attack ahah). Really sorry about that, that's what happen when you add features like that like 5 hours before the jam submission due hour, we'll make sure to be careful about stuff like that in the next jam.
For the sturdy shell, that should indeed be a bug. Our card design allow us to precise a rarity type and we might have set the bad one unfortunatly... And yes for the card in the store, you could buy them if you get an infinite money loop where you equip some money improvement cards and just sell/rebuy your cards to the merchant, money can stack up pretty quickely that way ahah ! But it's kind of a glitchy build hidden and RNG based, so not a good decision on our side... anyway, when you buy cards in the store they are not revealed in the carddex unfortunately.
And concerning your balancing ideas, they are great ! We'll check how we can improve the fishing spots spawn (maybe allow the player to fish anywhere and have fishing spots only for really rare cards ? Stuff like that).
Anyway, thanks a lot for the time you spent writing this review full of insights !
Interesting game I love how cozy and chill it is. I just think it is a tad bit repetitive. Overall super fun If you want you can also check out my game too!
Hey ! thanks for playtesting our game, it means a lot :) indeed it might be a tad repetitive, we already have some pieces to improve this repetitiveness like adding quests, more villages, NPCs, and more variety in the gameplay like weather and mini game improvements, hopefully it will work out somehow !
Awesome what you came up with within a week! :O Fun gameplay and great art, love it :)
Thanks for your time, it means a lot !
Very cute chill game. Great for winding down after a long day :)
Mind checking out my jam submission?

Thanks a lot for your time, we're glad if that gave you some chilling time :) We will definitely review it !
amazing art and a very complete game! i loved the minigames and the steve zissou reference
Wow, such a nice feedback, thanks ! For the Steve Zissou reference, I think we need to come clean, it was not intended but more like a happy coincidence ahah.
A very lovely game that I'd love to sink time into when I'm feeling down, just to chill and just listen to the soothing music and hang out by the dock with a friendly shopkeeper. Lovely aesthetics and vibes and it's 5 stars in many categories!
My only feedback is maybe the cards/fish should be automatically claimed without having to right click them. Furthermore right click is not the most intuitive action, and left click to drag it to inventory is a bit of a long-winded action to repeat for every catch, thus I think it should do that automatically if you have the inventory slots for it. I know the text says to claim it or they get lost, but I didn't know it required actual user input to make that action - in Dredge you automatically claim the loot too. Just my two cents. The game is great overall :)
That's really an awesome review since that cosy vibe which bring your mood up was not that much something we intended at first ! We're really glad that it made players feel that way. Thanks for you really generous review !
We're 100% aligned with your feedback, the drag'n'drop / right click thing is possibly the most unintuitive UX/UI ahah. Reworking this part will be the first thing in our todo backlog ahah
Anyways, thanks for your review and time !
No problem, I ended up making a semi-cozy game set in the sea too HAHA (except for the storm...which is the opposite of cozy), something about the sea just screams cozy to me, like I just wanna sit there and watch the waves... *zones out lo-fi beats*
I totally agree ahah, it just reminds me of my childhood holiday memories at my grandparents house near the ocean, such a nice feeling !
I'll go check your game asap then ahah !
For me it reminds me of building sandcastles and getting bitten by crabs XD
Thanks - I'm looking to learn as well so if you have any detailed feedback, feel free to let me know your thoughts about my game so I can improve!
This is a top notch game! Loved a lot of things about it, honestly would pay for a full game of this style if you expanded it and polished it up a bit. Very solid work!
Wow awesome, thanks a lot for this feedback ! It really motivates us to expend this concept further :)
Excellent little game! Really really well polished considering the time constraint.
I was dumb and did not drag the first few fish/cards into my inventory. (even though it was there in red text)
Is there a reason the drag and drop mechanic needs to be there from a design standpoint? Maybe it makes the player feel like they are "hauling in" the fish or something?
Either way- I enjoyed the minigame, and the upgrade progression seemed to be very natural. It also had a very cozy aesthetic. Great job.
Give Hurricane Watch a go if you get time!
Hey thanks a lot for you review and feedbacks, we're glad you appreciated the game !
Let me stop you right there, you're not dumb ahah ! We definitely did that to make the player feel like "hauling it" but it's clear that it was a huge misconception on our side since many reviewers didn't notice that they needed to take an action for that. We'll definitely rework that part so that it feels more natural to the players !
That's really nice that you enjoyed the upgrade progression, which was a central thing in our game design (we would have loved to further expend it tho) ! And yes, our artist really did an amazing job, feels like being in his backpack sometimes ahah.
Anyway, thanks a lot for dropping by !
