I think I could do 1-2 second faster but for me this is enough :)
I wanted a deathless run

I would had a sub 50s if I wouldn't doubt too much on the boss haha

I gave it another try while I waited for my dough to ferment, good rng on the boss fight :)
1 death on platforming, 1 death on boss

I see, it’s fair to want that, the K it’s fun and made me laugh the 1st time xD
I also used to enjoy the genre like that, it’s fun to watch and see people who are good at completing the fangames :)

I didn’t know that about the grid layout, it’s nice to know :o Now I see why it felt different, it wasn’t bad, I think it’s kind of interesting because it can lead to a different type of gameplay
And I think it’s good that the physics aren't 1:1, it’s fun to experiment or change stuff

My difficulty meter broke a long time ago and I think my opinion on this shouldn’t be counted too much haha. Thanks to the fangames, I tend to do hard stuff and a reason why some of my games are like they are, my gmtk entry was made with fangames in mind xD

I think it’s normal that I find it easy when I used to play this kind of fangames, I never finish them but was fun :)

This really takes me back to when I used to play fangames of IWBTG every day haha

The SFXs are so ingrained in my brain that it felt good to hear them again and the classic song from the start

I think the game is ok, fun and fair, doesn't have dumb traps or ultra hard jumps, feels like a good introduction for hard games. I really like that the blood stays on the spike that killed you, good pick in changing the jump button to Z, it’s kind of annoying getting the sticky keys pop up when playing this kind of game, though it messes up my muscular memory when pressing R and here I was pressing T xD

About bugs and stuff, I didn’t find any, just I had a very big lag on first death but this is because the browser, after that, went smoothly. My only complaint is that if you touch the sign that teaches you to jump, it locks your jump skill until it says how to jump, it can be skipped if you don’t touch it but feels kind of strange when I replayed the game

Also would be nice a restart button to reset the timer and death in case someone wants to speedrun this, to avoid the refresh of the game page

About the traps, I like them, very classic ones, I like the signs, fun and I like that they want to troll all the time. In this kind of game, I prefer only platforming or avoidance, usually I avoid bosses because I can’t spam the shoot button but here I managed to beat it, I think the difficulty is nice. I would speedrun it but for what I say above I won’t haha, I can reach the boss part fast but then I see the apple and start to feel down hahaha. Also I like the apple as a boss, truly a classic :)

I would say that I would like a harder version but I feel the 1st jump can’t handle that right now, while it feels good for this game, I think it needs a liiittle more control of the Y axis, if I press Z a little bit it jumps a tiny higher than it should? Or maybe the visual of the bird is too big to what I’m used to and gives me this sensation? I can’t put it in words right now but it’s ok as it is right now, if you can do a diamond jump with this setting, then I think it’s good to make a harder version haha

I only think this after playing the screen that gives you the double jump, felt a little small for the bird and tight platforming

I guess that’s all I want to say, I leave my time on my 1st run, would be a lot better but I spend more time on the boss because I’m impatient or I can’t wait much when bosses are easy haha. Nice game, I had fun, really nice to see an IWBTG game ^^

Edit: I found you can stay on ledges haha

I see, haha
For me the horizontal jump was only hard because I felt it was very precise or if I got the jump, it was weak and didn't reached the ground, the vertical jump is ok or I didn't have trouble with it

I know about the dithering part but when I try to do it, I don't feel great about the art I make haha

I think the concept can be interesting, sadly for me doing the horizontal momentum jumps was kind of frustrating, at least the 1st one in 1-5, the second not so much because I landed it on the second try

Outside both 1-5 and 2-5, I had fun playing, I like the gravity change, it’s like vvvvvv, the little puzzles and the movement are ok, I won’t mention the bugs I found because I see those are in the game page and after last jam I know how strange is to do moving platforms haha. About the multiple restarts on level 3, it reminds me of the bugs I get on my games when I forget to disable the hitbox and movement when the player dies. I like that in this level the platforming goes with the song, also I like the vibes of the game and the character sprite, it’s cute, nice selection of sfx and it’s nice to see you are able to do 1-bit art, for my life I can’t do it, this game looks cozy :)

Oh, I forgot that the arrow don't display on my screen, maybe it's my PC xD

I like the game name and I think that’s all I can say!

I see, about the feeling of the hitbox being precise is because I really didn’t design this game to be a bullet hell haha, for that reason the hitbox of the character is big like a normal game
Though, from what I see in the comments, I think I should rethink my definition of bullet hell, for me this is just a hard platformer or an endurance game :)

I didn’t want to make another bullet hell because my last 2 jam entries were a bullet hell (a shmup and a roguelite) and there the hitbox is actually small with a lot of bullets, but I added a few of those in this game to have a little of variety and color

Good to see you like stage related stuff, I also like that haha. I’m happy you liked the art and thanks for your comment and playing my game! ^^

(PD: Thanks to this comment, I learned the word “lest”, it’s the 1st time I read it in my life xD)

Thanks for playing :)

To cross the electric bars you need to dash across them, the dash deactivates your hitbox so you don't get damage, it works for any attack, as long you are dashing you don't get damage haha, I didn't have time to put an explanation into the game, sorry about that

Also the dash is kind of buggy so even if you cross them, you need to jump but sometimes your jump isn't detected, you could get hit after crossing those electric bars, the game is more difficult than it should for those bugs

I'm happy you give a shot to my game, thanks for playing! ^^

I had fun playing this game :)

I read a little bit of the comments so I won’t repeat the thing about how op is the TNT haha
I like the mood of the game, the visuals are good looking and the song selection is nice, I can imagine myself playing this on a rainy night just digging

About the gameplay, my 1st run I did it without the TNT because I’m used to games where those are kind of bad with a lot of downsides, so I just upgraded my shovel and I miss a lot of money to pay. The last day of that run I saw the TNT usage and prioritized that in the second run. I had fun exploding all the mine, it was funny to see the big hole in the backyard I was making and could finish the game. But I had more fun playing with the shovel, felt more relaxed and it feels the pressure of making good choices in order to get all the ores and stuff, also it’s more exciting to reach those little deep caves with treasures

I like the dog and really like the minimap. You can see your path and it’s fun to see how you modify the terrain.
About the endings, it makes me laugh in both how it ends, like why it goes away hahaha.
And when I used the TNT, I really liked discovering that part and I thought “I would prefer to stay here”, it looks better and it’s cooler haha
There is one bug where you can keep digging but the camera stops to follow you, it’s funny to see yourself on the minimap just going deeper and deeper

I think that’s all I have to say, fun game with a balancing problem but I like the detail you can see if you use that problem, good 1st game as a team! :D

I don’t put a screenshot of the finish as usual because from reading the comments, people are avoiding being specific about stuff hahaha

I had so much fun playing this game hahaha

It got me a little tense at the end when the alarms got louder but the minigames were fun. My favorite is the alien one, the kid and the lollipop always appear in the worst moment haha
The crashout of the secretary on ending A is funny but I agree with everything she said xD
I look quickly before the ending starts and it’s amazing that I did like 84 minigames, it didn’t feel repetitive and went quickly

The design of both characters is great, I really like both! In general, the visuals of the game are pretty and nice. Also I like the captcha drawings, the little axolotl is cute and the cat with the fish hat haha
The audio in this game is great, it feels real and the sounds don’t drown the other ones, it’s nice to hear all at the same time but knowing what is happening despite all the tension

About feedback, I don’t think I can give some, all feels complete, I didn’t found a bug except with rotating fast the knobs not detecting the area it should land but I think is a little thing it can be overlook since UI elements can be tricky to handle in short jams haha

This game is entertaining and a great 1st game as a team!

Sorry about the painful experience in level 2 haha, I really appreciate that you took a whole hour to pass level 2, it’s amazing

  • About the inconsistency for the upward movement (jumps and dashes), first I was playing with the jumps and gravity stuff but due the lack of time, I didn't finish to tweak that and had to implement the dash over that unstable base, so it end up being a mess held by glue and duct tape
This problem got carried to the platforms that also I couldn't complete and the reason it can eat your jumps or feel janky. I tried to make the levels that didn’t make this very visible but it didn’t stop my mess from showing up haha, the second level was thought to be more dynamic but those bugs didn’t let me do that...
  • About the downward movement, it’s buggy because I implemented it like 5 hours before uploading and didn’t have the level 2 and 3 finish, I didn’t have time to see how it can break and patch that
  • The hurtbox is the whole character, this time I didn’t make a small hitbox because it wasn’t planned to be a bullet hell and the reason I did put a few bullets in, I had to nerf the bullet generators to shoot a little
  • The missing warn in the electric bars is intended, I know it’s a bad design and I could implement that easily but I did want to make something bad, like my last year's submission xD
  • Thanks for catching that missing SFX, I was so tired at the end that I felt I was missing a sound effect but couldn’t think what it was

If I update the game I’ll put a warning on the electric bars and maybe make the hurtbox smaller :) The issues with the movement will take a little more because I’m not used to make platforms and I should use state machines to fix all that mess
I’m happy when people complain like this because it makes me see stuff and the impression my game had, so I’m happy you expressed this much, thanks for playing and congrats on finish the game!

(My next bullet hell should be the rework of my bullet hell jam submission, at least the 1st level with the new graphics and gameplay, it should be on September 15th! Next week I'll put on a post on Itch my progress on that)

About the gameplay, I didn’t have planned to add bullets but I did because I wanted a little more variety of stuff to dodge. I can see why it can remind you of Touhou, the funny thing is that I haven’t played those games but the niche games I used to play grabbed stuff from Touhou, so in some I end up doing similar things to it hahaha

In my last 2 games I got similar comments, how my game remind them of the games

I don’t think my songs are that good but I really appreciate your comment, happy you enjoyed my game, thanks for playing! :)

This game was fun

I like drawing so I tried to get a high score after my 1st run. It’s a relaxing game, despite the countdown, it reached a point where I could take it slower than the start. I like the variety of drawings, in my 4th run I still got new ones like a rabbit and a red car. My favorite is the dog and the color shapes

The progression of tools is good and can be used to get a new drawing if you don’t like the current one, but I think this should be expressed beforehand. In my first run I did the drawing, then pressed the unlock eraser and then it reset the drawing… It wasn’t a big deal and got an easier one but was a surprise haha

The song is nice, helps to relax and focus and never feels repetitive. I think it should be drawings that make you pick different pen size, you can do all the drawings with the base size and the fill tool and the visuals are pretty
I almost got 1st place but I threw hard because I didn’t paint the eyes of the crab and got 3rd, I’m still happy, the game was very fun and I think it’s the game I have spent most time in this jam

Great game! ^^

(I would put a drawing made in free draw mode but both times I didn’t make the outline correctly and the fill tool erased most of the face or body hahaha…)

I didn't put the fall through the platforms only with s/down key because I felt if the player press it by accident, they will fall into the lava, so I put is as s/down + jump to do that haha

Happy to see you liked the art and the story, thanks for playing! :)

I had fun playing this game, I always like this kind of game where you have to land something carefully.

About the gameplay, I think it’s ok, I’m grateful how generous this game is, in the sense if you crash a lot, you respawn in the fuel station but there is a little part of me that wishes this game was more punishing, pretty much you can drive badly and nothing happens as consequence, the checkpoints are good but maybe that if you respawn more than 2 times, you have to restart the level

The control feels good, playing on gamepad is nice and I was a little sad to reach the end because I wanted to keep floating in the space haha. I really like the attraction force that is applied into the rocket by the rocks, makes it interesting and it’s fun to float in the orbit. One thing I didn’t like much was the “Low fuel” sound, I think it’s a little loud and I think it would be ok if it sounds 2 times, like an alert and not a constant alarm, or just make the sound a little quiet

While playing I got a strange bug where I landed and after moving again, the ship started to spin like crazy, was fun to watch and after a few seconds it stopped. It didn’t happen again so I can’t give more details on that

I like it visually and the mood of the game is great, it really feels like the space, I had a good time here, great game ^^

Thanks for playing! :)

I’m very bad at trivias, for my life I can’t remember stuff like this and usually I don’t know about common stuff haha, I will never answer the actors, cars and dogs questions correctly, so this is one of those very few games I’ll leave incomplete
Though I like the vibe of the game, the song is very fitting and the devil could be a good host. I like the background and I think the game can be fun despite me being bad

In the observations, it’s funny you can gain negative points if you put few answers and a lot of time, it actually removes those points from your score hahaha
And If you play again after the game is over, it soft locks after the dialogue, or that was in my case, nice game :)

Haha, I see, I'm surprised you almost complete the game without the dash, if I update the game I'll put a part where it teaches the player this about the dash, I couldn't put a tutorial as my last games for the lack of time
And also I'm glad you could watch the end! ^^
Again, thanks for playing! :D

Ah, about that part, you only need to dash towards it, the dash deactivates the hitbox so you can cross through the traps (and any attack in general haha), in the second level there is an attack that kind of teaches you this, when all the electric traps comes at the same time near the end from above
The part you sent the screenshot is literally the last 2 jumps, the next one is the same and there is the end of the game, if you want I can send you the ending in a video so you can watch it ^^

Also thanks for playing my game, very happy you like the art and the music :D

I like what I played here, it can be tricky to get used to the idea that when you move everything moves, not just a few things as the usual in games but after some time it feels good to play

I think my suggestion in general is, it would be nice that the camera is more above than is right now, I know you can rotate it and there is feedback on what tile you are but I would like to see a little better what is in front of me, near of spike traps I always had to double check if those were really in front of me or I was missing one tile to be on front of them.

Other than that, all is ok, the fire projectiles are good, there are good spaces to move in case you need to pass time to activate the doors or wait to deactivate the traps, so it never felt unfair or bad. Maybe it can feel a little tense that your moves are for all the game and not just for the section, I thought I wouldn’t reach the end after a few retries on the 2nd section so I restarted the game haha. Also would be good a restart button, in case the player wants a cleaner run

I like the vibes of the game, visually it is interesting, it reminds me of old games or something I would play on the PS1, the audio is ok, never felt repetitive and covers the sfx needed. I didn’t get the ending because Yume says something about the door and then the game ends, so I think it is incomplete? Idk, maybe I read wrong haha

There is a bug that if you pick “play again” it softlocks on the intro, and I think that’s all I have to say, was a good little game :)

I liked this short game, I struggled a bit to understand the hints for the poses at the start but once I figured that out, I could see all of them. My favorite is the heart one at the end ^^

Visually this game is great, I really like this kind of art, the game page is nice and has a good cover image! And the bgm really gives a nice vibe to the game

And my impressions are, very sweet at the start but after looking at the ending, I can’t shake this little sad feeling, like a bittersweet feeling that one gets from farewells, and in some way reminds me of some songs that have this cute look but are painful haha. I hope they can see each other again. I had a good experience from here! :)

This made me laugh hahaha, Mimi is so funny, nice short game xD

I had so much fun playing this game, it’s great :)

The 1st playthrough was fun because the puzzles were good, my favorites are the floor 5 and 4, which are good levels to learn the control of the air time with landing. My least favorite is floor 1 because the last part is a timing trick more than a puzzle one. Also it’s easier than floor 3 which is the one I struggle a bit to solve

I like the mechanic of limited landings, I like that you have a room to play and get used to it before the game starts. Also the visuals are good, I really like the little drawings in the first couple of levels, I think they are cute and a good guide to the gameplay

I don’t mind that if you get a box over your head, it locks your movements since you can restart the level. And my favorite part of the game, I really didn’t expect a speedrun of the game haha, it’s very fun to do and I like this because the movement feels great, maybe there is a little issue with pushing the boxes at the last level, making it a little slow but the player movement is great and this would work as a platform game or more than a puzzle one

I like the song of the game, isn’t repetitive and gives a good mood to the game, also the ending is cute. I really had fun with this game, one of my favorites I have played this jam, great game! ^^

I had fun playing the puzzles, the visuals are cute and the song boosts that feeling

About the water, I would liked that it was explained a little more clear, after 3 tries I realized it cost more than the other actions haha, but I like it, I think my favorite puzzle was the 4th one or level 2, the last puzzle is good but the 4th one has many paths that it was fun to discover the correct one.

I like the visuals of the game page and I think that’s all I have to say, short but fun and relaxing :D

Yeah, the dash is janky and buggy with the platforms xD I couldn’t fix this on time and before making the platforms a 1 way block, I wanted to make use of that janky launch you get by dashing into them. In the end I scrapped that because it was bad or didn’t fit the gameplay haha

Happy to see your comment, thanks for playing! ^^

I liked this game, it’s fun and can be dynamic

I think I’ll start with, I like the progression of the game, those upgrades are fun and I can feel the power of each one, but one thing I feel is that some should be locked until you beat 1 boss and not just the hourglass and jetpack ones, I think this because you can just grind the area before boss 1 until you buy everything and just ignore the content after boss 1 or there isn’t much to engage until the last boss because you have everything, only jump until reach there, maybe kill all the enemies could be fun but I think the time gain once you are at that point isn’t worth to gather more. Also because if you get hit, you lose a lot of points so it’s better go straight to the boss instead of losing like 30 seconds and only win 1.2 or 1.8 per enemy

About the bosses, I like them and you can skip them once you can have jumps or the jetpack, which I find it funny because at some point you can have all 3 bosses active hahaha

The song doesn't feel repetitive and I like the tutorials the game has, the visuals are great and I like those little details, it makes the game feel polished. About the song, after beating the game and picking to play again, it doesn’t play until the 1st boss, it feels a little strange to play the game without it for how used I got to it haha

It would be nice to be able to play the game with gamepad, it can be done and I can rebind the inputs but for some reason the interact button don’t work, I had to press E and use the control again, I only tested this quickly after beating the game once with keyboard, the difference is big and with gamepad the game is more fun, I felt more in control of the actions

I think that’s all I can think of, it was a fun game and longer than expected, nice game! :)
My score with keyboard and with gamepad

I see, well, I only hope Tally got a happy ending haha, in any case it was fun and enjoyable :)

I see, yeah, game jams can be very short to add stuff like that :(
But I'm happy you could upload the game, it was fun :)

Yeah, the difficulty from level 1 to 2 is bigger than it should be and the bugs don’t help, so I can understand that it can kill the fun. I’m happy you gave the game a shot and glad you liked the visuals with the audio!

Thanks for playing! And I’ll have in mind your advice, thanks for pointing it out :D

I find it hard to stay engaged when there is no audio, though, I like the visuals you picked and the controls feel fun, I really like the amount of dashes and jumps you give in the game, with some obstacles it could be a fun platformer or one game where you can do crazy jumps

Also I think the zoom out/in feels a little too much, maybe making it less would feel better. About the speed of the dash, since the world feels open it’s ok, but if the game would have a more closed ambient, would be nice to make it less powerful, the jumping I think it’s great as it is now and I think the floor should disappear faster to give the player a motive to move constantly and make the game more dynamic. I think that’s all I can say! :)

I think this is the longest game I have played of this jam, it’s fun and makes me pay more attention than usual which I like. The 4th shift I feel is the slowest and can feel a little boring if you have a nice setup to count people (I had 2 scanners and a duck), only because I feel it last longer than it should, but I think it’s kind of ok if you know the chaos that is the 5th shift, so it kind of feel like the calm before the storm haha

I really like the visuals of the game, I feel the design of the characters is creative, I really like them. I like how each type of customer has its personality just by the walk animation which makes this game fun to watch and also works well to put different speeds of movement, all this feels with purpose and which makes me think this is polished or will make me remember this game over others from the jam. Also the ads are funny, are silly and make me laugh each time they pop up at the start, the fly one I think is my favorite hahaha

About the gameplay, I think it’s creative, I never thought of an idea like this and playing feels fun and challenging. I find it funny that I missed by 1 customer on the 1 to 3 shift, there is always a faster customer than the one I think it’s the chosen one haha.
The items, I didn’t thought in using more than the duck and scanners and while playing never thought in “I wish I would bought X or Y” so I don’t feel so engaged with the objects, though, the game as it is feels nice so I don’t mind that the objects don’t feel appealing.  (And the description of the duck and the coffee…)

I like the little story going on but I think the ending got buggy because after the 5th shift the game stayed on black screen and just a different song started to play, I waited like 3 minutes and nothing happened :(

I thought about repeating the last shift but the objects I had disappeared and with 13 coins I felt it would be hard to manage. I didn’t feel like repeating the past shift to recover my stuff.
Also I don’t know if it’s intended or not that you can’t put scanners in shift 5, I really struggled to put them at the entrance of the dual door… Despite all of that, the last level feels chaotic and fun, it’s a nice difficulty to end the game, viruses decreasing my count, pop ups everywhere, ducks making a lot of noise, recharging scanners all the time, it’s a battlefield xD

To finish, the songs are great, never felt repetitive, all the game feels nice and I really liked this entry despite all the little stuff happening haha, great entry, amazing this was done in 4 days! ^^

(Too many edits of the post because Itch is having trouble with my images... my guess on last shift)

PD: I found you can bug the game, if you are in the store, return to menu and play again, the store stays open and overlaps with the dialogue part haha)

I see, nice to know xD
I usually try to break the games in jams or look for stuff like that haha

I see, it's ok haha, I'm happy you give my game a play

Thanks for playing! :D

Somehow I managed to survive with -4hp but I died when a serpent attacked me haha. Simple but entertaining game, I always like when people do the sfx sounds, always give a fun touch to the games. I like it gets harder the more you survive, I thought I could just camp in a corner with some brushes but I couldn’t, those birds always come at me haha

I guess the only feedback I could give is that the resolution of the game is bigger than my screen so I had to zoom out to play. You can put that the game can be played at full screen with an option that Itch gives you almost at the bottom of the game page configuration. That can help people with smaller screens look at the game in a comfortable way. My highscore is 141, I would put the screenshot but for some reason it doesn't load :( Maybe because it's too small haha

Nice entry :)

Yay! If that update comes, I'll check it out :)

The second level I can see the unfair parts and it would be different if it wasn't for the thing with the platforms, with the little time I had left, I went with the current design, which isn’t that bad but it needs more play test, I build it as “if I can clear it once, it’s good enough” xD
I had to nerf it because it was tough but now it fits a little better the pace of the song

Really happy you liked the visuals, and about the story, I had to improvise it, originally this jam I had planned to not make any story or something like that, just gameplay, but I realized that I didn’t have time for the original idea and after making the 1st song, I got this idea haha, nice to see you enjoyed it!

Thanks for playing ^^

Happy to see you like the art! Thanks for playing ^^

(1 edit)

Fun game, I guess the only thing I didn’t like much was the cannons shooting before you enter the screen in a few sections or that they keep shooting outside the screen, the bullets can make you company for some time if you don’t wait for them to go away, I think this only annoy me at the start of the attempt, when things go very fast I don’t think it’s a bad thing because everything is going too fast and you can move more that it don’t feel like a problem

Also when I get a good attempt, I understand why it is this way, otherwise the runs would be longer and easier, so I feel a little mixed with this haha
The movement feels a little strange at the start, like sometimes there is a little pause between movements or something that makes you go slower but the more you progress it feels good to play

I like the visuals and it’s easy to see the enemies, I like the birds and its jumping sound, it’s cute, the song doesn’t feel too repetitive but at some point I focus too much on the game that I don’t mind it haha. It was fun to play until I got a score I’m happy with, at that point everything was fast and was funny to see and good to play! :)
