Im scared of deep water and caverns, yet this was a very soothing experience.
The audio design was really good as well.

How does your game fit the theme?
Drowning mechanic. The game is about managing this.

The frog can go fast ...once I realised I can hold shift to dash haha ! Managed to make it to the end (I think ? ) .
Good execution for this jam , really good sound design as well , love the model of the frog.
Changing directions is a bit quirky though ,as the frog needs to kind of turn around .
All in all, great job!
I love to look of the frog and the idea of cave diving while managing your air. I just couldn't quite get ahang of the controls. Maybe I'm not understanding something, but it feels like I'm always fighting the frog, and it takes five seconds before he goes the direction I'm pressing.
This game feels nice to play, I really liked to go around and look at all the places, it feels smooth and also I really like that the song pauses when you are in the air and continues in the water.
Seeing the frog legs moving quickly when there is a floor to stay is funny to me, also I like that there is a different part where the bg is darker than the rest of the game. The feeling of exploring the water is nice thanks to the visuals and the song. In that darker area or close to it, there is an air pocket where the white like flickers with the bg, it doesn’t flick fast but it’s the only air part where it has this issue
It’s a little sad this is a short game but it was great to play, I hope the frog keeps diving safely in those caves! :)
Ah, thank you for the awesome comment.
We definitely were going for that exploration aspect, I appreciate you felt that as well. There's definitely some small issues with some visuals (that bug you described is definitely a layering issue).
We might go back after the jam and push a small update populating the cave more with more unique visuals, things to find and maybe some multiple endings.
Great game! Loved the echo on the frog in the chambers below that plus the way the music drops when you surface really sells the whole cave. Great work!
Oh the frog moves crazy weird, but I cant look away from those damn legs.
I ran out of breath and I didn't respawn kept doing the funny side to side walking animation.
Turning was tough, don't know if it was intended or not, but i would have preferred it to be more responsive, considering how smoothing the gliding (shift + direction) felt. Turning stopped the momentum.
Very good art and music but i'm not sure if the game has a deeper meaning or it's just about diving
I LOVE THE MUSIC!!! Great stuff! Really cool how it fades in and out it was quite immersive and made me feel cool. I'm not sure if I won or not but it was fun and cool, I'd maybe make turning a bit easier and maybe make the timer a countdown pie instead of shrinking the circle. But I really liked the music i gotta mention once more, great job!
very cool game! it was really difficult and i wasn't able to finish it. the art is really well made!
The audio is top notch! The attention to details in the way the music raises and lowers the volume really made me get "immersed" into it!! (pun intended hehehe)
The controls of the frog was really interesting, I just think the camera could pan a little more "ahead", because it is already hard to be in the depths not knowing if you'll find a dead end, a little more "look ahead" would feel a little more fair while keeping the difficulty almost where it already is. Also, maybe the "shift" could spend more oxygen? That's a design tradeoff, it would favor more careful gameplay instead of the "rush", so maybe it doesn't fit.... but I wanted to share the idea anyway :)
Congratulations!!! I really really liked the vibe!
Appreciate for the feedback!
Agreed, we could've tweaked the camera a bit more so you don't run into unfair situations as such. A think a little dead zone is fine, but it's may be a little too much in the current iteration. We also explored the idea of the dash consuming more oxygen, definitely made the game a lot harder. Might be worth testing if we ever come back to this, right now the only tradeoff is a lack of steering (or we might improve that in the basic movement).
Thanks for the thoughtful comment tho!
The artstyle is pretty neat, and the gameplay is pretty fun. Also that music kinda slaps???
I feel like this idea could be expanded upon in the future and be its own fully fledged game. Great job :D
Great game, reminds me "They breathe". Navigation feels a bit unfair sometimes. Good work with sound.
Loved the art and music, but kinda confused on what to do initially. Still great game. cheers ~SilentComet
love the art & animation and the music (also the cuts to it), the player character was a bit frustrating tho but maybe you wanted it like that. I didnt get where to go bc there was no incentive to go, maybe adding something?
Hi! Thanks for playing our game!
Yeah, it's a common feedback we've gotten that the incentive is a little unclear, could've definitely presented it a little better. Same with the movement? I think a little floatiness is good, but we might've gone a little overboard in the regular WASD movement.
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback tho!
