Glad you enjoyed it ! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

I realised just now that I didn't specify you need to hold the Q button for the top down view πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

I love the art and the mechanics here , love card games overall ,so may be biased

The gameplay feels good and is easy to understand. One of the more polished games in this jam, you could definitely  expand on this idea later on.

Great work! πŸ˜

Very nice art style and the puzzles are well balanced !

Could use a restart on a button press though , but its a small thing really! Good job on this game !

I really like the art , the background looks very nice ! Music works well with the style.  Choosing which battery to go for is a bit of trial and error , but i don't mind it at all ,that's the challenge .

The controls seem a bit floaty , snappier movement would make it a bit easier to navigate.

Good job on your first GMTK ! πŸ˜

Hate when kids leave bombs at home , honestly ,its the worst ! πŸ˜

Fun puzzle game with some memorization elements , I found deciphering what each card means quite fun actually. A lot of trial and error in a gameplay ,but the game loop works well IMO .

Good job! πŸ˜πŸ˜

Love the art style in your game and the map is absolutely massive ! Very nice touch with different biomes ,so the areas don't feel the same and music fits well. I only managed to get the first new ability(although couldn't find out how to use the air dash correctly)  ,but I saw you have more there, makes me curious to get further next time !

Some platforming sections feel a bit too tightly packed and the movement of the character is a bit floaty/slidey and hard to control at times . The big jump after turning around is a fun mechanic !

Great work! πŸ˜

Very fun arcade game ,definitely takes me back to some of the first games i played ! Art style works well in both modes , i really like the animations on the platformer character , when attacking. 😁 Good amount of visual and audio feedback as well !

I feel that adding a crosshair would make aiming when shooting a bit easier.

Great work ! πŸ˜

Fun idea and the jumpscare from the sea creature got me good ! The mini games are enjoyable and give variety to the gameplay. The art is nice as well!

It is a bit chaotic sometimes , a little balancing of tasks ( introducing them one by one) would help the general experience . All in all, great work !😁

Thank you for playing and glad to hear you enjoyed it ! πŸ˜

The pixel art is nicely done and music fits it very well as well! Very Castelvenia like aesthetic πŸ¦‡

Game mechanics are pretty clear and they allow for replayability .  You could defiantly extend it to new levels when a player reaches certain objective. A little bit of visual feedback when consuming  would be a nice addition.

Very good entry ! Kudos πŸ˜

Great interpretation of the theme ! The art and music are matched nicely . The player feedback is very well executed as well , i could feel the sun burning me through the screen haha

As for gameplay, it is a bit unforgiving and fairly fast paced. I kept on hitting random objects on a way and wouldn't tell what was it .

Overall , good entry ! Kudos to the team ! πŸ’ͺ🏻

The neighbour should relax , honestly haha . Very cute game , I love the art and the simple gameplay works perfectly. The distortion of music towards the end of the meter is a nice touch ! Great work ! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Very cool entry , count down is real! Art fits perfectly ,so is the music .

It reminds a bit of Super Meat Boy and Celeste at the same time . The controls need some tweaking and maybe introduction of new mechanics should have a little softer learning curve , but overall, good game ! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Nicely executed game ! Made me rush it as I was afraid the bomb will go off haha .

I like the art, music fits perfectly and as another comment said ,remind me of Hotline Miami . Definitely could extend it and make more levels , just put the policeman through a groundhog day πŸ˜… Well done !

Very good puzzles, they got me scratching my head a lot ( must have spent at least 45 minutes playing  haha). It creates an addictive loop ,as I always thought I was one step closer . General difficulty seems a bit high ,on levels 7 and below though. Managed to get to level 3 and felt a bit defeated  πŸ˜…

All in all, very good game ! Kudos to the team!

Very nice  interpretation of the countdown theme and the gear visuals fit the game as well! Fairly challenging  , but still enjoyable .

A little feedback : reducing gravity when player is falling would make it a bit more forgiving , so player has time to react . Also, I managed to get out of bounds in one point haha (past the 3rd checkpoint ,I think ? ) πŸ˜…

Overall, great job though! πŸ˜ Kudos!

Glad you enjoyed it !

Yeaaah , I get what you mean ! The mouse was annoying me as well ,but left it for the very end and run out of time πŸ˜…

Jimmy takes good care of the 'stache , but it always take some time πŸ˜… Thanks for playing ! πŸ˜

Great idea with changing the jump height based on the countdown ! The TV dude is very cute hah . Overall, everything is well executed , the art ,the music and the feel!

Puzzles are well balanced in my opinion , I think I found the one with question mark platforms the hardest . .

Why player shouldn't jump in the last level ? I jumped anyway ... still made it to the end πŸ€£

Really nice platformer , the pixel art is top notch ! Well chosen music as well ,everything clicks together very well , managed to get to the end . The difficulty is just about right as well. Good amount of polish .

A little feedback I found out about the wall jump by just trying ,but it wasn't addressed (I was scratching my head behind the first gate when I thought I was stuck). Also , red colour for platform gave me more of a "danger ,don't step on ", rather then it is usable ( i jumped on it at the end anyway haha ) .

Overall, very good work ,you got my rating! πŸ˜Ž

The frog can go fast ...once I realised I can hold shift to dash haha ! Managed to make it to the end (I think ? ) .
Good execution for this jam , really good sound design as well , love the model of the frog.

Changing directions is a bit quirky though ,as the frog needs to kind of turn around .

All in all, great job!

First thing that came to my mind was good old Quake , especially with those propelling platforms πŸ˜Ž
Really enjoyable game loop  , art is great ,kinda trippy and that sells it well ! Great job!

Very addictive game , simple style that works perfectly and great amount of overall polish ! Its a bit tricky to deflect the bullets directly at enemies , but its a part of what makes it fun i guess . Kudos to you all! πŸ˜Ž

Nice idea to replace the usual health with life/ tries countdown ! I like the player sprite and well wired animations ,solid job! Congrats on the first jam ! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Cool use of wave mechanic , it adds an extra layer to regular platformer. The energy mechanic also makes you move faster, so the pacing is better! Controls feel fair , maybe a little bit floaty , but it does the job.  Music ,animation and little cutscenes in between are fitting perfectly 😁

Player character is really cute and the storytelling is done on point ! πŸ¦‡ I got through first two levels ,but will come back to finish it soon!

One note is that ,at first , I didn't know I can jump on enemies (got a tip pop-up later though) . Also, the spikes didn't give me an indication of being a hazard , but again, trial and error 😁

Great job overall, kudos to the team! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Thank you for all the feedback , really appreciated ! 😁

Camera and movement is definitely something that need fixing, I agree! Re camera and movement : Do you mean more of a 3rd person style camera or just better alignment between movement and camera? Trying to gather all the feedback possible to make the changes accordingly πŸ˜…

Glad to hear you enjoyed it when you got used to the controls though! 😊

Thanks for playing! I know, it is a bit demanding, camera and controls are not helping either, I will try to tweak it a bit 😊

Nice concept and I like the art style!  Definitely made me a bit stressed out to clean the room on time hah

A little feedback  :  UI that displays what item you are currently holding would help.

Glad to see you had some music on and it felt like a finished project !

Good work !

Good effort on the project! You got the core mechanic (waves and towers) sorted.

Finishing a project is always the best, so kudos for that !

It's all a learning experience! Game jams can nicely push you in a right direction (aka working under deadline) and make you progress. Always keep on improving and you will get there!

As a word of advice , a little game description or written tutorial always help. Another tip is writing down the idea and following a little plan . Even if ,obviously ,we would want to add everything , sometimes there isn't enough time / resources.

Again, good job! πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻😁

Nice concept , both gameplay and art wise !

I think some music would be beneficial and the tighter game loop would make it more engaging as well , it took a while to get through the first few days . Ah, and somehow my stress level didn't go up, I guess I was super chill haha

All in all ,good work!

Cat for the win! Simple and works ! Good job !

Few notes though :

  1. I managed to increase the wave counter to wave 14 by pressing space and ended up with thousands of enemies to get rid off πŸ˜…
  2. You may want to loop the music or have different tracks playing one after another
  3. The area is a bit too big in my opinion , making it smaller would create a more engaging gameplay

Oh, nice touch with cat having 9 lives 😸

Just leave it for now and people have to git gud, praise the Sun and all that  haha . Joking obviously .

Lemmings  was something I played a little when I was young ,your enemies movement reminded me of it. It's from early '90s , nothing amazing , but a lot of memories go with it😊

Nicely done for a first game jam! Music fits the game and general aesthetic very well.

As per feedback, the objects can deal multiple points of damage per instance. A little cooldown on taking damage would mitigate this issue. Also ,adding an animation to the player character would make it feel less static.

Good work overall and congrats on finishing first jam game!

Wow, very well thought through game and great amount of polish! Everything works well, from game mechanics to SFX , audio ,animation and upgrade systems . Very well done! Plus cat characters, bonus points for that!

One thing I would add is maybe a pause screen during gameplay , small thing ,but lets you stop the game ,just in case.  Maybe allowing the player to skip the scene after you lose would be nice as well.

All in all, reaaaally well done on this one ! You got my vote!

Really like the vibe and art style in this game ! I am defiantly sold on this 8-bit arcade feel.

I experienced some frame drops here and there. Also, I managed to skip the first encounter room ,by clicking E one more time .That teleported me to the next room. Shooting is a bit tricky as well, would be nice to see the range with some visual indication.

All in all, great work, kudos to the team!

Really fun idea  ! Its like Fruit Ninja meets Sine wave .  It's simple concept ,but works well and it is well executed .

Great work overall!

Nicely done! I like the concept and the simple art, music works well with the vibe of the game as well!

The one thing I would say as feedback though is that player was moving way too fast in some instances ,almost teleporting . It makes it a bit hard to control , unless it's down to mouse sensitivity

Great art style and  its a very polished project !

My only note is that even though it's a storytelling game , it feels a bit repetitive, as we just follow the dialogue by clicking the mouse. Maybe some mini games or possibility of choosing answers would make it a touch better.

Kudos to the team though, good work!

Fun idea for a game ! Reminds me a bit of good old Lemmings . Great art and addition of sound.

As per game mechanics, I would probably tweak hitboxes/ attack range , so player can attack without getting hit , it's a bit difficult to clear levels hah.

All in all ,good work! πŸ’ͺ🏻

Really like the art style !

It is a bit hard to understand what to do in the game though(I saw later a comment in here)  , so would recommend implementing a small tutorial (either written in a description or in-game) . Also, audio would make the general feel better( even simple background music) .

Congrats on your first project! πŸ’ͺ🏻 Good work!
