How does your game fit the theme?
The dogs are all calm until you stop listening to their requirements. If you don't give them the right item, they lose patience and wreak havoc on your place!
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
The code was made from scratch. The main music was made from scratch. Some of the art assets were taken from itch.io but everything has been credited as required.

I liked the tamagotchi-like concept! Chill vibe. I had a hard time giving the dogs what they wanted, they didn't seem to want to eat when hungry, or drink when thirsty, or play when bored. When the dogs started fighting, I right mouse click/drag didn't do anything. Dunno if it bugged out or I misunderstood the mechanics somehow.
cute game, loved to pet the dogs! just think the bar goes down too quickly
Cute game, seeing in your other reply that you originally had a big scope for this, I could see how this could be a bigger game. Maybe some balance changes for a post jam version? anyway good job!
The pixel art is very good, but I feel like something is missing in the gameplay!
Anyway I liked it, maybe with some improvements you can have a solid game!
Cute concept! Although, it doesn't really match the theme, so I'm not sure if this game was intended for the Brackeys Jam.
The art is excellent, I really liked the pixel art animations as well. Goes to show you only need a few frames to really bring creatures to life.
I found the difficulty level high (which is a good thing generally) and I imagine if I had stuck with it for another ten minutes or so I probably could have gotten a handle on it.
The one thing that bugged me is that the controls felt a little loose. Tightening up the dragging and dropping could make a huge difference. Also the texture filtering on the green/red/yellow bars appeared to be linear even though the rest of the game has pixel art texture filters.
Overall great job! Please give my game a play and rating if you get time!
Thanks for playing and your feedback.
We wanted to think outside the box for the theme as we felt there would be a lot of games around the idea of tower defence or some weather event. It was a ploy to stick out and so the theme is somewhat of a double entendre in one game:
- Everything is calm as long as you're providing the right items. Animals have personalities too, and you want to make sure you don't upset them. In this game, the dogs have a very short patience meter.
- The storm can be seen as either the dogs losing patience or you progressing through the levels, spawning multiple dogs which in our opinion is just chaos haha!
Who am I kidding though? Themes are always down to interpretation lmao!
Not all of the art is from us, some of it was taken through asset packs so we can't take credit for that but do check out the Itch pages for the other creators that we sourced some stuff from!
The difficulty is quite high and even we struggled with it :( . And likewise, the controls are quite clunky too; don't worry, it was spotted by us but we kinda just ran out of time to do some extra polish.
Appreciate the detailed review nonetheless, I'll have a look at your game soon!
It´s a good game even if it is a bit stressfull to care for the dogs. I don´t know how to get them away from each other, even with the right mouse clicking... Do I do anything wrong or am I a person who should rather just get one dog. One dog, zero fights :D
The rest of the game is really cool. The music is playful and calm, I like the graphic and I love the dogs, but that might just be my personal preference ´cause I like them.
The only thing to do better is the communication with the user. Yes, everything is written in the text below, but it is a big improvement to get all of the informations into the game itself.
