so i found these three candle structures on the map, you can use a lighter on them but that's all i know. Does anyone know if there are any more of these? Or if they are associated with an event can you give me a hint on what to do next?

In the valley next to the fence

Just above the pond near Tango

On the road to Victor

I've found two of those! I'm trying to find them all now, I'm willing to bet that something happens when you light all of them. Can you tell me where you found the first one (the valley next to the fence)?

East of Uniform

Near the lake, south-west of Tango

Update: I found the one near Victor, here it is on the map!

In between Papa and Victor, on the side of the road leading to Victor

found another one close to the rozital engine thing, can post a pic tomorrow.

I think that's the one near Uniform that I posted, unless there's another one really close to the engine.

I found the one in the valley!

Directly north of Sierra

Okay, I've found eight total now. I noticed the pattern in their placements: 1 for each of the stations bordering the fence. For the ones directly north, east, etc., you go just past them (roughly halfway in between the station and the fence). For the corner ones, you go between the two stations that are closest to that corner (for example, the one between Papa and Victor). Those are always slightly closer to the station furthest away from the base.

It's worth noting that the candles do go out eventually. I relit the two of them that I was sure had gone out, and so unless I messed up, all of them should have been lit at the same time. I haven't noticed any changes though, so I'm going to try to recheck all of them tomorrow and see if any went out. I might also check other locations that make sense to see if there are any other candles.

Here are the last of them that I found ( there could be more, but these are the ones I found by following this pattern):

In between Romeo and November
Directly west of Yankee
In between Xray and Quebec
Directly south of Whiskey

Great finds holyyy, now lets see if anything happens when we light them all.

I found all eight candles lit them and nothing happened. Another commenter showed them on the map and they make a perfect circle. Maybe another one appears in the very middle of the map, or the base after lighting them past a certain hour? Or maybe more appear in a smaller circle inside the perimeter of the first candles. Gonna need to do a lot of experimenting.

here is every candle position on map

very interesting...

Just wanna add to this, I found a lighter with exactly 8 uses in TR1. Could it be related to those candles?

Actually good idea, maybe starting a new save and using all eight uses on the eight candles does something.

Just did it on a new save and nothing happened unfortunately.

Possibly try to light them all at 3:33? or atleast try to light the last one at 3:33.

I know I'm kinda of late and i really want to be in this investigation, be sure to use the 8 use lighter it was possibly made for this, did you do this in some kind of order? There might an order for this maybe in alphabetical order or in that devil star order, like starting from romeo and then Sierra and complete the circle, and the note how long does it take to go out so you can know when to start again, since it's in a shape of a circle why not go in the middle of the circle at the base maybe something happens a might be a signal event too you never know but, search in base for anything unnatural, and keep aware of any change of the games theme music if it change there's a possibility that something happened, i don't know if this was in 0.8 or 0.7 but if it was in 0.7 it would be in the wiki (0.8 wiki information is still in progress) or reddit as i came to this place from reddit but no answers at all, if you can't solve this i will try my best to help as i said everything i have in mind in this, be sure to update the community on this it is very interesting, good luck.

I don't know if this is of any importance but I was looking up rituals and cultures that involve the 8 directions that the shrines follow, and many cultures have something in relation to it, things I've found are

  • Native American Medicine Wheel
  • Chinese Baqua (seen most often in Feng Shui)
  • Celtic Seasons (and whoever built Stonehenge!)
  • The Christian cross is seen by some as marking the cardinal directions
  • Ancient Egyptian pyramids

And a couple others, seeing as VotV has many ritualistic themes, to include the ritual at the miniature Stonehenge, there may be some merit in one of these or another practice/culture.

The website I used to try and find these sources was ( https://medium.com/the-many-ways-nature-heals/moving-through-the-cycles-of-life-... ) for anyone who might be able to find something that I missed.

has anyone figured out what this is about

The last update to 0.8 before the unstable 0.9 builds started being released added these. If you light them up and go to a specific place, you'll get a new plushie. The wiki has a guide on how to do it if you want specifics.

ngl, really hope thats not final. All of that for a plushie, a year of waiting like idk man.

(-1)

??? What's wrong with that? You go through way more effort to get some of the Argemia plushies, they're collectibles for a reason. And what do you mean "a year of waiting"?

(+2)

Idk there are so many plushies in the game as is, it would just be disappointing if another secret led to one. The whole thing with the shack leading to a lambert plushie still makes me frustrated, you need to get 4 special runes that don't even work 100% of the time through various complicated means, take all of them to a specific part of the map at 3:33 A.M, and then stab yourself with the ritual knife. It just seems like so much effort for something so relatively tame. I get the game is still in active development and everything, i would just like if these secrets led to lore instead. But hey, that's just me.

i do want specifics though, not seeing anything.

Figured out that they aren't actually for summoning a plushie, just got tricked by a joke video months ago.
