Game's Take on the Theme
A âGame of Clock and Mouseâ seeks to include the element of âSpinâ in every aspect of its creation and being. The primary motif of the Clock was selected based on the spin theme, and all mechanics designed thereon were created with that in mind. To that end, by linking cooldown based attacks to specific directions on the tilemap - the player is forced to rotate and âspinâ around the boss to alternate their attacks. This is further reinforced through the spinning minute and hour crit-hands underneath the mouse, which rotates every turn and every two turns respectively. The cornerstone mechanic of âRewindingâ also seeks to embolden this sentiment through its rotation of the attack directions either clockwise or counterclockwise. Visually the motif of Spinning was also included at every step of the way - everything from creating a spinning stage background to designing the mouse idle to be always circling. Even from a composition standpoint musical themes were intended to be recognizably looped to reinforce the feeling to the player.

The visuals are really nice, the isometric tiles work great, the movement is really smooth and I like a lot the usage of spin here, I rate graphics, fun, control and music on top but all is nice, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!
I don't get it... and as a fellow tactics game Dev in this jam I've heard that a lot as well. if you're in the server id love to Sit and watch you play it and listen to you explain the mechanics before I rate it. I think I'll love this game, the art is incredible! the music is funky! animations look great I just don't understand how to play properly or how to hurt the boss. incredible work and I go by Nic in the Boss rush server if you'd like to reach out!!
It looks really good, and the gameplay seems very interesting, but I couldnât quite figure it out.
pixel art is amazing.
thanks
Love the pixel animation of the cat.
Please help rate my first game jam submission.
I was pretty confused as to how to play, I got through the first boss (the cat) because I figured out you could just wait and as long as I didn't move I could slowly chip away at their health. As most comments suggest, a tutorial would be appreciated.
I REALLY like the art style and overall vibe, and from what I did understand the mechanics are really cool.
Overall, this is the basis of a really cool game, good job!
I was so confused by the combat so had to replay it a few times. I really loved the pixel art done here and the jazzy music.
I think this is a very polished game, I just suck at the mechanics but that's mainly a skill issue, lol. Good work!
Wow a turn based game with spin combat. Was confused at first how to play. Need to strategize before challenging a boss.
That was interesting, but definitely lacks tutorial, because it is a bit confusing, how abilities work.
Sadly, got a bug on the second boss, when I couldn't act at all. I think it happened when I have used left rewind and tried to move at the same time. Also I didn't get, how to return to the game from pause menu :D But well, after I restarted the game and tried "Exit" button, it actually unpauses the game, which feels a bit weird, cuz I have thought this is the button to exit the game. So could use better wording there, like "Resume" for example.
Great visuals and animations! So rare to see turn based games, this was awesome!
Absolutely FANTASTIC visuals and art. Also love the turn based combat! Well done!
hey thanks
I am in love with this game. Sincerely, it is beautiful, engaging and there is definitely something worth putting effort afterwards, if you guys want to.
As a feedback, I felt the need of an tutorial at first, because it took a while to get the hang of the game. Also, the going forward in time felt a bit OP to me, as I had my attacks available everytime I wanted it.
But none of these things ruined the experience for me, whatsoever. I genuinely think this one deserves more attention. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed our game!
A very well-thought-out and executed game!! The pixel art looks awesome, and omg the UI of this game is just very very appealing.
The only I wish the game had was a little tutorial at the beginning, so i don't feel like being dumbass for like five minutes lol. Otherwise a rrly great experience!
Controls were a bit confusing at first, but you get the hang of it after a while! The pixel art is great!
A fun little game all in all! I was a bit confused over the mechanics but got the hang of things fast enough-the tooltips when you mouse over abilities were a help! Had an odd glitch where moving the camera would minimize the game but when I found zoom in/out I was able to ignore the issue entirely. Bosses are one-note but found their overall design enjoyable. I'd enjoy seeing a few more if the team was inclined to expand upon it.
Thanks! We definately had more planned, so we may expand it a bit after the jam :
Cute artstyle that reminds me of C64 games. Took me a while to figure out the controls but I think I got it. Pacing could be faster as well. Nice job!
Thanks for playing it
Visuals and music are absolutely astonishing! But the gameplay confuses me, I don't really get what I have to do. A little tutorial would be nice!
Yes! we had wanted to make a tutorial, but we ran out of time a bit haha!
An interesting game with good music but it has a harder learning curve.
thanks for playing it!
That was certainly fun. I had no clue what was going on for a second ther, but I got the hang of it pretty quick! Once I figured it out, I saw the deep strategic aspect.
haha yes, bit of a learning curve fs
