I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK

I'm not sure exactly what made it work but i read somewhere online that gmk8 games needs c++ Redistributable. Coincidentally, an unrelated thing (a cnc generals fanpatch lmao) got me to install them, I randomly tried opening the game 2 days later and the game worked. I have no other idea for what could have made it work.

So for those who are getting the file seems corrupted error, try installing Visual C++ Redistributable (x86) 2005, 2008, or 2010.

It could also be a DirectX thing. Try installing "DirectX Runtime June 2010" too.

As for my thoughts on the actual game. It has yachie so an instant 5/5 on theme.

I'm getting a "Failed to load game data. File seems corrupted." error on both versions of the game, and I can't seem to find any solution for it :(

(and i dont want to download gmk8 just to recompile the game myself)

It's a fun platformer, and the songs are chosen well! I enjoyed listening to them all while I played. I would have been curious about hearing them in full on some of the levels that I needed to restart a lot - especially the final one.

There was some odd level design with tripping on the floor, and jumps sometimes not working. However, it didn't detract at all from the experience in this case!

Overall, it's a very good game on the silly side, and I enjoyed my time with it! Thank you for making this!

10730 points (died a lot). Fun platformer; challenging but not excessively so. I feel the jump is a little weird; it's not high enough for most of the platforms, and the way down feels a little floaty. Some coyote time would be nice. That said I was surprised at how many levels the game had. I haven't managed to beat the Phantasm stage yet.

I didn't manage to run the technically post-jam build, only the "LWAA.zip" version. The screen is quite small, though.

Nice work overall.

Last level is impossible, and why to put such an important key as restart next to the very ones needed for action, I misspressed it quite a lot.

Story is fun and silly, I love the nonsense and the drawings.

I get this error after the intro in the technically postjam build (haven’t tried previous ones yet): image.png

the big problem I see is that it's easy to get stuck.

Can’t get the game to start (postjam or original) :(

Overall its nice, the movement is a bit weird tho, I get stuck even at some ramps, if I get stuck in the holes with spikes, its game over, or at least I dont know of a way out, and and just when I get some good speed I really gotta be stopped by a fairy or a slight elevated block, but its alright
the art, music and the story are overall good, the game window tho is really(i mean, really) small for me, maybe there is a way to change it but i dunno
also use OGG for music, or anything but wavs, because they take a lot of space, wavs for sfx and short stuff like that is fine, this is one big game in file size for sure, and likely because of that
