How does the game fit the theme?
You have to plan out and adjust your "Game Code" accordingly to achieve a win. If you mess up, then you must take off countless hours to fix whatever mistakes were made. Thus, you must really make sure... NOTHING can go wrong!

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I made all the assets and everything myself, nothing was taken from anywhere else.

How many people worked on the game?

Is increible! I love the concept of the game and is very original. Is so difficult.

Developer

Glad you loved the concept! It definitely is a bit too difficult for beginners though :>

Can you try my game too? I'm only 14 years and I do a roguelike. I need some feedback

Developer

Dont worry, its in my list :) Ill get to it eventually, we have 1 more week :D

I love the concept of the game; it is something new that I was not expecting at all. I'm amazed you did this in 1 week as a solo dev! One thing to make sure you put in next time is to make the game have a smaller learning curve. Currently it might leave some players quitting too early because they may find it too hard. Overall, you did a fantastic job!

Developer

Thanks for giving it a shot! Indeed the current main concern is the ridiculously high learning curve D; Will have to take that into consideration for future projects lol

very original and cool concept, took a while to figure out tho

Developer(+1)

Im glad you liked the concept :> Definitely a bit much to throw at the player at the start...

Great idea! I do believe there is a big learning curve but it is def a fun game

Developer

Glad you liked it! Indeed there is a bit of a learning curve :3

Very original concept. The interface definitely gives the "iteration" feel of game development, and the idea of fulfilling "game balancing" objectives instead of the typical "get as OP as possible" is actually brilliant.

The biggest issue would be figuring out what to do. I only managed to progress after watching the video and reading the description. Otherwise, had no hiccups.

Developer

Happy that you liked the concept! Indeed the game is still a bit too overwhelming at the first sart :p Glad you hopefully made at least some progress though!

This is a really cool idea with awesome artwork! It's a very creative concept that seems like it took a lot of effort - I really haven't seen other games that try to emulate something similar. A lot of my critiques would be echoes of things others said - especially that having a tutorial could be good. Aside from that, it's really quite impressive - great work!

Developer

Thanks a lot for trying the game out! Glaf you liked te visuals of the game, it definitely judt needs a good tutorial :p

Really good game with a super uniquie idea. It was hard to figure out how to change the values, but once I did, making a submitting the game was very fun. You did a really great job!

Developer

Im glad you loved the idea!

It was a very unique game and I love the idea and theming behind it! I will admit I was still quite confused and it took me a while to understand how to properly change the values in the editor. Other than that, it was very fun!

Happy that you liked the idea of the game! Hope it wasnt too hard :<

It's a unique idea for a typing game with a polished look. The guide wasn't that good though, I had to watch the video just to understand that the gameplay is basically "type the letters next to inspiration value AND the letter next to the value you want to assign it to". I started trying to click on the value fields because they looked like those editable fields in other applications.

Developer

Apologies! Definitely underestimated the tutorial guide lol, tried my best to make it less unguided through itch, still a bit tough :p

Damn thats such a cool idea! loved it!

the game was kinda laggy but i saw you said that the downloadable isnt so thats cool lol

Developer

Lol yea indeed the browser version doesnt like its existence :> Glad you liked the idea though!

The game has a very original mechanic and a really good music! It was just a bit confusing for the controls and the UI clarity, but overall, the designs and the concept fits really into the theme! Very meta game, I enjoyed it.

Developer

Glad you liked the game!

All of this made by just a dev, congrats! The idea is fun and original, I had fun even though I sucked a lot at it lol

Developer

A godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot inside a godot? Cool! Thanks for trying then :>

Very cool game! Having to watch the ideas, their colors, the code, trying to figure how the GDscript does, what values could be changed while trying to press random keys from my keyboard and watching the gameplay to see if what i'm doing is effective is very much overwhelming! But I found it very innovative and had a great feel! (It's only missings a few sounds effects)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for giving it a try! Glad you like the concept!

Thanks a lot for trying to stick around! Happy you enjoyed

Incredibly original idea with a great execution. I think slowly introducing mechanics to make it feel less overwhelming off the bat is really the only advice I have. Great art style to tie everything together with as well, good job :)

Developer

Thanks! Glad you loved the visuals :D Definitely a big thing  is easing in with the tutorial...

Wow! Very cool idea and its realization. I was very surprised by this game. I also want to note the excellent visual style.

Developer

Really happy you liked the visuals!

I wish there was more feedback in exactly how the numbers are affecting the win condition. Really interesting concept though, nicely done

Developer

Glad you liked the concept!

I finally won. After countless attempts.

Finally fifth on the winner's leaderboard, 1st place would look nice though

This is a very cool and unique idea, which I don't think I've seen before. It's very hard too, I think I've tried almost 10 times now but still can't get a win. I guess game dev is just hard :( The game has a simple yet effective look to it, and I do like the appearance quite a lot. The music is perfect for this game too. Overall everything in this game really gave me that urgency vibe and that nothing can go wrong mentality, and that's a win in my book.

For some criticism, I'd say the game is very overwhelming and hard to understand, and I don't think anyone will be able to understand the game within 3 rounds of gameplay. There needs to be more explanation and in your case, just text and slides will never be enough. Consider an in-game tutorial session instead. I would also the control of holding two buttons and one extra is not the best input scheme in the world, and I would rather do three separate consecutive inputs instead. The reason is that when you're randomising key, things like 1QX will be very hard to effectively do, and unnecessarily distract the player from the gameplay. I think this is a bad thing for your game. It's already hard as it is! Also, consider giving the player more time / lessen the win timer and it really is difficult to slowly trial and error your game and get a win from that. Btw the console page is very unhelpful as you don't really have a chance to see the values there when you are struggling to find a better value for a field.

Anyway, this is a very well-done and innovative game indeed, might play some more to get a win myself later. Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the awesome feedback! Yeah a tutorial definitely needs to have been added, it's something ill take further consideration into in my future gamedev endeavors :) Anyways glad you liked the game!! would be epic to see you in the winners leaderboard >:)
