Cute little game, I like the concept! That said, I think there’s a lot of room for improvement.

The good stuff first:

  • The story is interesting and well-written. Ember is a lovable character—I’d love to know more about her and the world in general.
  • I got the sexy scenes with Ava and Nikki. The dialogue and the art are great!
  • The fish types are really funny—some even made me giggle (the Skibber tho... 💀).

Now, about the gameplay...

  • Since the game is mainly focused on fishing, I think the minigame could be made a bit more complex.
    • Right now, the upgrades mostly make the minigame shorter. By the end, I could catch some fish in about a second without even moving, and I just spammed the minigame to get enough fish for the Ava scene. That's a shame because I ended up playing the fishing part only for the reward, not for the gameplay.
    • A simple change could be adding a second axis to the minigame instead of keeping it one-dimensional. You could bind horizontal movement to right-click, allowing the fish to move in a larger space and making the minigame more engaging. Just my opinion!
  • Also, Ember’s walking speed is reeeally slow (I didn’t find a run button, if there is one), which makes moving around tedious.
  • There are some bugs, but nothing game-breaking. For a game jam that’s totally fine. It’s just a shame the music doesn’t loop, though.

Again, the concept is great, and the story is engaging. With more time and polish, this could turn into a really solid game!
