Intonality, this composition takes the listener on a truly captivating journey.

I perceived it in three phases: At first, pure chaos, just as a battle should be. The sudden shift in composition really stood out to me, creating a sense of anticipation, as if you don’t know what enemy you’ll face next.

The second phase takes on a more structured form, giving a strong sense of progression, like an immense force pushing forward.

The third phase is where I was most surprised: despair. It felt like a soldier who has torn through everything in his path, only to turn around and realize the destruction and devastation he has caused.

As for the mix, there are some elements that could have been refined in terms of EQ, but overall, it holds up well. Any adjustments would have only served to balance something that, in my opinion, already sounds great as it is!

Well done!

Thanks so much! That's pretty much exactly what I was going for so I'm really pleased you picked up on that. I actually came up with the "despair" section first before entering the jam (albeit heavily changed from the original demo), and I knew that was where I wanted the piece to end up. I was going for a feeling of "we survived, but for what?"

Yeah there's definitely some things I would tweak in the mix, life just got in the way. But I'm glad it holds up okay! Thanks for the kind words, definitely motivating 🙂
