I personally really enjoy top-down games with this camera style, and one day I plan to make one myself and hopefully release it commercially if everything goes well. I found the concept really fun, and the way you designed the main mechanic around hiding behind objects to reach the objective was interesting. The final attack is definitely very satisfying with all the sound effects and the tremor.

I’d say the difficulty curve feels a bit off regarding how the enemy shoots, specifically with the shotgun. It might have been intentional since the weapon is heavier and deals more damage/shots. However, the reload delay made the enemy vulnerable for too long, so maybe reducing the delay a bit or removing some objects in the way would make it more challenging.

Since this is a short game and likely one of your first, you did a great job in managing to create a beginning, middle, and end. I know for many it might seem simple, but every big journey starts with the first step, which you’ve already taken (and in a great way).

It would be interesting to have the possibility of picking up some boxes and using them as shields to face the enemy, but for that to work, we’d need to be in a situation where it takes more than one punch to defeat the enemy. In its current form, the shield box would be very unbalanced, removing any difficulty that might arise.

Your game has many possible expansions, like the shield idea I mentioned, organizing elements for stealth attacks, other mafia members trying to take us down, or even obstacles along the way like traps that deal damage or slow us down. The possibilities here are practically endless.

Overall, a short and fun game that managed to keep my attention and made reaching the end feel satisfying. Congratulations on the project, and good luck in the jam!

Thank you so much for your helpful comment! Yeah this game has a lot of possible expansions thank you for giving me some. Congratulations to you too on the gamejam!

Landing that punch on the gunman felt really satisfying once you got close enough!

I managed to complete it on my first attempt, so perhaps the difficulty could be raised a bit with some extra levels where you really need to hide carefully and reposition objects to close the gap.

Visually, the game had a fun style, and the intense, energetic music added to the adrenaline rush.

The theme was lightly present—check!

Overall, a solid jam entry and a great foundation for expanding into more content. Well done! 🥊🎮🔥

This game is fun, i liked it but I've found a bug, if you somehow stay too close to the shooter you're not gonna be teleported and you can hit him for free, overall this game was really fun to play.

I've gotta admit, I had a lot of fun playing this one! The punching was really satisfying, and I felt the urge to try again every time I died. When you're playing a game, it's really important to feel that sense of replayability, and this game nailed it. I also think the sound effects and music matched perfectly - good choice!

I do think the game could benefit from better graphics. While the simple style got the job done, I think more detailed and immersive graphics could help the game. In addition to the graphics, adding more polished animations and smoother transitions is never a bad idea. I understand the jam's time span makes it a lot harder to do these things, but even the smallest bits of polish can change how an entire game feels!

Overall, this game was a ton of fun and I enjoyed playing it. Good luck, and keep up the great work!

Good game. Nice work.

I was pumped. Just wanted to falcon punch all the gunman. Took me a while to beat the shotgun man. I did not like having 'P' be the punch button. I would have preferred a simple left click to punch. Music was a perfect choice for type of game.

Nice short little game, not to hard not to easy. Graphics were ok for developer art and a jam i think. Music set a nice pace to the game

I like the control feeling, and  the use of the background color to indicate the difficulty of the level.

(Also played utill I could no-hit the game :D)

It's a nice work!

Very fun getting to run around as One Punch Man! The game felt really good and responsive.

It was really short . you could have tweaked the existing elements a bit to create more levels.

The visuals fit this type of game really well and reminded me of Hotline Miami too.
There’s not much to say about innovation, aside from punching the guy to progress, which was fine. Overall, it was a solid game—short but on theme!

Way too hard for me - I needed like 10 attempts to reach the end… but still manageable! I noticed some glitches, like boxes clipping through walls and the character being able to leave the screen, which can be a bit frustrating. However, as the game is very short it did not affect my game experience that much. Also, I’m not sure why the player animation is constantly shaking.

That said, the game has a lot of potential, especially if the difficulty is toned down a bit. The sounds and music fit really well, and it definitely captures the theme of 'breaking the loop'!

Form the start- I liked the difficulty! For me it hit that spot, where it's difficult enough to be satisfying , but not too much, so you don't get frustrated and ragequit :)

The boss changing weapons was a nice touch! I really thought I was done when he pulled the rocket launcher (but turns out the shotgun was harder).

The gameplay reminded me of Hotline Miami, which is always a good thing!

The graphics... could be better. Personally I work with a graphics guy, because I'm  bad at it myself :)

Thank you for rating my game!

You got me! I did use Miami Hotline as inspiration to get me a visual theme .

Yeah for sure the graphics could be better I'm not great at it. Might copy you and go find a graphics guy myself ;)

So I'm just going to rate every category with some comments to it.

Gameplay: Man, it was too short. I really like the idea that you have to punch that guy to get to the next level, and you can use your environment to help yourself. I would've liked more levels with these kinds of things!

Art: It's a bit blurry, but it works for this type of game.

Sound: The music sets an action tone, which fits pretty well for this game. Some more sound effects would've been great, like for the main menu buttons.

Innovation: Again, I liked the idea to use your environment to punch that guy. Would've liked to see more of these things.

Theme: Story wise, the theme works, but it's only loosely there.

Besides the critic, it's a short, fun game. :)

Thank you for rating  and playing my game! Yeah I heard my friend say that too about it being too short when he playtested it.

If i'm going to make more levels , I might as well make a whole game with it with other generic fps main characters to punch. The one who has too many guns to use them all , the one with powers , the one with throwables and maybe one who has a lock on to head skill. It'd be fun to explore how the player would try to survive from all those cheats and skills as the mob enemy with your trusty mind , body and powerful punch while using the environment to the best of your abilities.

I drew the screen arts and the covers.
