How does your game fit the theme?
Quite literally - the objective of the game is breaking and destroying a Loop convenience store and gas station, hence "breaking the loop."

This was a fun chaotic destruction game!😄
The random item drops made it a constant challenge to figure out how to reach that 100% destruction mark, which also added a lot of replay value.
The controls worked well, and the visuals were good, with the destruction effects being nicely done and satisfying to watch.
The audio and SFX fit the gameplay perfectly, and the background music was amusingly calm, considering the chaos on screen! 😄
The theme was present, though it could’ve been pushed a bit further.
Overall, a fun and solid jam game packed with destruction—great job! 💥🎮🔥
This game really sparked my creativity! I love when a game lets you figure out how to play and experiment with different strategies.
Randomly generating resources was a clever idea, allowing the player to strategize and use them efficiently to deal 100% damage and win.
I’m not exactly sure how the difficulty was implemented because, for me, the harder the level, the easier it was to win.
The visuals were really good and on point, and the destruction felt satisfying thanks to the visual changes and sound effects. The music and overall sound design were also great.
As others mentioned, placing objects felt a bit tricky and too precise. some visual feedback would really help with that. I’d also love to see more variety in object placement and level design, but I understand that might affect how the theme was implemented in your game.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience with a creative idea. Great job, man!
Thanks, and we're glad you enjoyed the game! We also would have loved to have different level design (maybe breaking into various levels of the Loop corporate office???), but the main concern was the time constraint of the time jam. As for the difficulty, the police just arrive quicker with every level, which means you have to destroy faster. Thank you for such a thoughtful review!
Nice art. Looks like what you might have seen in a professional Flash game. The various objects used for destruction were very creative and it kept things interesting that different ones were randomly generated each time and you had to figure how to use them most efficiently. Calling the gas station Loop, was slight stretch of the theme, but it still works. (I had my character breaking a hole through a barrier surrounded by a circular path, so I did stretch the theme a bit myself.)
Hello, thank you for the review! We didn't just name the gas station "Loop" arbitrarily, it is a real convenience store brand at Shell Gas Stations.
Oh, should have guessed. It does sound like the type of name a company might use.
This game has a really strong and unique concept, and I love how it embraces destruction in a strategic way. The sound design and visual effects really add to the chaotic fun, making every action feel impactful. However, I did find the object placement to be a bit restrictive, which sometimes made it frustrating to execute the destruction I envisioned. Perhaps adding clearer feedback on where objects can and cannot be placed (like a slight glow or grid indicator) would help smooth out the experience. Also, some mechanics(like the torch) could benefit from a brief in-game tutorial or clearer visual hints to make their functionality more intuitive. Overall, a great game with a lot of potential! excited to see how it evolves!
I really like the concept. Reminds me of the Burnout 3 and playing the crash game mode. I wish I was able to understand enough to complete the first level. I only seem able to get about 30% damage before running out of objects to use. When I finish using all the objects the game seems to freeze, and I have to start over. Overall good job with the unique approach and would have loved to see more destruction.
Sorry - the balloon can be glitchy, I would avoid using it until the next update. The goal of the game is to use the given objects as strategically as possible, and you have to deploy certain strategies and methods to achieve maximum destruction, so it may be difficult to understand the first time playing. Thank you for your review!
Great concept. I liked the randomness in the arsenal to keep it fresh, and there was a real feeling of satisfaction when I figured out how to cause destruction. There is of course room for improvement but it's just a matter of developing the pieces that are already there.
For me, it would be nice to have more flexibility in placing objects (different angles, flipping orientations, and more freedom in where to place things). Especially since the player is not a controlling a character, it can be difficult to make them feel like a participant in the gameplay. I think giving them more degrees of freedom in what they control would help to accomplish that.
Thank you for the review! Intially, we planned to add a rotation mechanic but simply ran out of time - we agree that the feature would have allowed for more freedom.
Looks like we have a pretty unique interpretation of the theme here hahaha. Man, I really liked your take on it! I had considered the possibility of someone making the "loop" be an object, person, magical item, etc. And in the end, it actually happened!
First, I have to praise the music and sound effects in this game. They undoubtedly made everything feel more alive. The sound of the sirens, the destruction, and the chaos spreading—it really creates a satisfying experience in this aspect, making each interaction feel more impactful through auditory feedback.
I also really like the art style. It's clear that a lot of care went into every detail of the environment, which, despite being small, has its own unique identity thanks to the way everything is composed. The visual feedback, like the water gushing from the hydrant and the walls gradually crumbling, was very satisfying. I consider this a crucial part of the game juice, which turned out really well!
One thing that slightly bothered me was the precision required when placing items in relation to the environment. When I positioned something incorrectly, even if it seemed right from my perspective, it made achieving 100% destruction much harder. I feel like the game demands an extremely high level of precision, which isn’t ideal for this type of game. Giving the player some small advantages (even without them noticing) is always great. In this case, I mean things like smaller collision areas for placing objects and a larger attack radius.
I’m not sure if the game is divided into a grid, but I don’t think so. However, it would be great to have clearer feedback on where we can and cannot place our weapons. The way it currently works, moving an item to the correct position isn’t very intuitive (since we don’t know exactly where it can or cannot be placed), which makes the challenge feel a bit harder than intended.
I would love to see a tutorial stage that teaches how to organize and use some (or even all) of the available items. This could be one of the eight levels, which would save time while also being incredibly useful for guiding the player through the first steps—clearing up any doubts they might have as they progress (like, for example, the function of the torch).
Something that would be very useful and cool to add would be subtle, temporary indicators showing which parts of the map are about to collapse and which ones could trigger a bigger chain reaction for more destruction. This would make gameplay a bit smoother for the player.
Despite these points, the game is already very good! These are just suggestions for extra polish in the future. Congratulations on your project, and I wish you the best of luck in the jam!
Thank you for such a detailed and well-thought-out review! We're so glad you enjoyed so many aspects of the game experience. We completely agree that a tutorial stage and a more relaxed object-placing rule would make the game easier to understand. With the time constraint, it would just be really difficult to add a tutorial stage. Additionally, the strict object placement is necessary to prevent physics glitches and bugs. You may know that Scratch doesn't have a built-in physics system, so we had to hand-create the gravity, object placement, and breaking all ourselves.
We appreciate you taking the time to play and review our game, it means a lot to us!
This is cool and well made, especially given it was made in Scratch, well done! However, I must unfortunately criticize the gameplay. In such "destruction chaos" type games, it's generally good to give the player as much freedom as possible, have things fly around the screen, one thing breaking another, fire spreading from object to object, things like that.
I didn't like how restrictive the object placement was (one pixel of overlap and you get nuh-uh'd) – I think you could at least made the object glow red when you can't place it in a spot, and don't make it disappear when I click on an invalid position, but just allow me to place it again immediately. As others have pointed out, the torch is a bit counterintuitive – it only makes fires bigger instead of creating new ones, which may be a tad pointless? I mean, fires usually get bigger on their own, don't they?
Finally, there's some kind of balancing issue. While it's definitely possible to beat all difficulties with the items you're given, it's never really the "complete chaos" kind of fun. It's more of a "strategically place the few limited resources you're given" kind of fun. Which can certainly be fun, I mean look at PvZ no sunflower challenges for example, but I think that's not what you were going for. Make sure your game design is in line with your vision for the game.
Thank you for the review! The use case for the torch is not just limited to increasing fires, as it is also the way to light bombs. As for the fires, they do also grow on their own, just incrementally - the torch can also grow the fires. I agree that it would be better to have a more freestyle sandbox aspect of the game, but Scratch is unfortunately just not built for it. In fact, we had to design the entire physics and destruction system manually which took a while.
We appreciate the detailed feedback and will definitely take it into account for future games!
Its a lot of fun when i get it to work but sometimes is unclear where things go, for example i could never get the torch to work, and i tried on gas cans, airconitioners like the description says so maybe make it more clear where you could drop stuff would help . Also one time it crashed my browser. And a very intresting take on the theme. I liked the style and the soundeffects.
Thanks for playing! I added a note in the description regarding the torch, I can understand why that is confusing and apologize for the miscommunication.
nice, and no problem, You might have seen it yourself but i checked your addition to the description you wrote
The gas can can be used only to light bombs or grow fires, not to light gas cans and AC units
i guess you mean
The torch can can be used only to light bombs or grow fires, not to light gas cans and AC units
Oh yeah, sorry, should be fixed now!
I found this game to be very creative and unique. The graphics are really fun, and it is a very satisfying game to play. Well done.
the game is very simple and fun, have you used turbowarp too? we are turbowarp brothers
Haha that was fun. Reminds me of the old flash game Mass Mayhem.
Graphics, sounds and music are good. Good job you all.
So far, this is the only game I’ve played that truly destroys something - definitely a perfect fit for the theme! I really like the overall game idea. As an 'art person,' I appreciate the style, though some elements don’t seem to fit together seamlessly. Consider using more cohesive text styles for the UI to enhance the visual consistency. The overall game experience is really well done! You get clear feedback on where to interact with objects, and the ability to place things in so many spots adds a great level of freedom. I know that managing a system like this can get tricky, so major props for making it work so well.
That said, some interactions didn’t fully follow the expected logic - like not being able to light up the gas container? The music and SFX are nice, though I wouldn’t typically associate the music with a gas station setting. Maybe something that reflects the usual 'Loop' atmosphere would fit even better.
I did encounter a bug when placing the balloon under the gas station - the whole part flew up to the top, and the game crashed. But overall, this is a really fun and promising game with tons of potential!
Thank you for the reivew! With the length of the jam being only 10 days, it was hard to patch all the glitches, and the was one that managed to sneak through. I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)
I like that cozy atmosphere. It’s relaxing
Ok, I did not expect this take on the theme. Points for original take!
Other than that, it reminded me of those flash games, that were popular on newgrounds.com, like twenty years ago! Hit me right in the nostalgia.
What this game does really good, is sound. Every destruction has it's own sound effect, none of those are too quiet or loud, all communicate what is happening really well!
Thank you for the review! I hope you enjoyed playing :)
Fun to play but I gave all flat 3 stars.
Thank you for playing! What about the game did you think needed improvement?
Pure chaos
Haha, I had a fun time getting creative with destruction! The music was awesome.
This game made me nostalgic, it reminds me of the old flash games I used to play when I was little.
AND I CAN DESTROY THINGS, I LIKE THAT YEEEE
I think I found a little bug when you place a balloon under the roof, it goes fliying out of the screen and the game crashes. But that makes it break the loop too so, I don't see a problem at all...
Haha, I love the clever thinking! I'm glad you enjoyed our game, and appreciate the review :)
Music goes crazy, I'll say that
I find myself to have a hard time knowing where to place things. I assume that I can place them somewhere, then proceed to get beeped by the game saying "nuh uh!". I had this particular issue especially with the torch, I'd somehow manage to get 2 to 4 of them per game then be unable to use them until something caught fire, then could only use it on the fire.
Sometimes the arsenal of weapons in which you were given weren't able to destroy the building on the left as everything shot right.
All in all, the game does exactly as it needs to. Its clever use of "Break the loop" had me giggling for a little. You always knew how much you were destroying and how close an object was to being fully destroyed. I found it funny how sometimes things would float up with the balloon.
After a little thought I also realized why theres no restart button (Its because you cant create a loop in a game thats meant to break a loop) lol
Very interesting game to say the least and one that fit the theme in a very cheeky way
Thank you for your feedback! For the torch, the item under it should highlight if it is placeable, as you can only place it on flammable objects (bombs and fire.) For the other placeable items, they can be placed anywhere as long as it is not touching an object. All combinations of weapons were thoroughly tested and were able to destroy the entire map in all modes, so you shouldn't be running into that problem.
We're glad you enjoyed the game and appreciate the comment!
Also, you mentioned no restart button. The green flag should restart the game, does it not?
Right! I forgot that it was a scratch game 😂😂
