I think I went with Destruction because what I have here just didn't quite feel like Desolation. To me, the Desolation stage deserves something that's a little more melancholic, with more empty space in order to best capture the vibe of that painting. I kinda get into that stage with the last piece I submitted since that's the next natural stage of an empire, but I think the Destruction stage was more suitable for the submission overall. Since my first two pieces have a darker, more chaotic tone to them to illustrate the little story I was telling, I felt that the Destruction stage was the one that best fit that general vibe.
