How does your game fit the theme?
The connection to the theme Breaking the Loop is that a racetrack could be considered a loop, and in Dimension Drifter, you use your epic drifting skills to leave the "loop" each stage is.

I also can't drift enough to fill the bar before I hit a wall. What am I doing wrong? When drifting the turns are so tight that I just hit the wall too soon.

For a first game jam entry, this racing game was definitely not bad 🚗💨!

While it lacked indeed some polish, it was still a solid effort. The driving felt ok, though drifting was a bit tricky to control and to fill the bar. Having some UI and menu controls would have been a nice addition.

The idea of breaking the loop through drifting on a racetrack was a creative take on the theme. The music was full of energy, which added to the excitement. The levels could have used a bit more detail and decoration and maybe som extra VFX and SFX, but overall, this was a great first jam entry.

Keep up the work future jams & games !🔥

An unique take on the theme. I think it has been mentioned before but a web build really helps people play your game in a game jam. I am not a fan of racing games so i cant really give any tips on gameplay, But if for some reason you cant offer a webbuild and want your game to be full screen  offer people a easy way to close your game. If there was i couldn't find it and i needed to use tr-alt-f4 to close the game

I really liked the idea of drifting to get to the next level.

Consider making future games playable in a browser, especially if you participate in a game jam. This helps more players access it easily and you will get much more feedback. This is the first racing game I’ve come across in this jam (and I’ve played almost all of them by now!). The overall design looks great, the music fits well, and the SFX adds to the experience. The car movement feels solid, but the drifting mechanic could use some refinement: It’s a bit tricky to handle and doesn’t always register smoothly.

I really like the interpretation of the theme, using a racing loop as a gameplay element is a unique take here, while drifting 'perfectly' breaks the loop. With some menu improvements and more variation in gameplay, this could become an even better experience. Great job!

It feels so good to drive and drift. I couldn’t fill up the drip gauge.
Nice music

It's a nice demo!

You accomplished a good  driving and drifting sensation, and visuals are fantastic.

I wish you had the time to set up more levels and a a more polished structure, like menus and sound controls.

Good job!

You got perfectly the theme, the drift is very good, the only downside is that there is no option for volume because it was so loud.
Good job.

Driving game can be fun.

It was probably my own skill issue but I couldn't seem to get enough drift to get a dimensional shift going. I also couldn't pause so I needed to close the game in other ways, but I love the look of the car and the music :)
